Arroz ala Cubana is an international dish, but with a tasty Filipino twist. It is savory, delicious, and well-loved as a baon for kids. This nutrient-filled dish will surely become the next big hit in every meal that you have with your family.

Simple and easy to make arroz ala cubana

It is best to be practical these days. That’s why cooking meals that are all healthy, delicious, and budget-friendly has become something that most moms apply to their daily lives.

By sharing this recipe with you, we’ll be able to give our families more mouthwatering options when it comes to food. Plus, did I already mention that it is not too costly? Yeah, I did. I just had to say it again because that’s just how amazing this dish is.

WHERE DID IT ORIGINATE?

Did you know that the origin of this dish is still uncertain up to this day? There are many sources saying that it was from Cuba, where it got its namesake. But there are also a few of them who believe that the Filipinos had it first.

No matter its origin, the only truth is that it is one amazing dish that fits everyone’s taste.

HERE IS THE MOST FUN PART - COOKING IT!

Making your own Arroz ala Cubana is as easy as 1, 2, 3! You don’t even have to change the pan to use and fry everything right then and there. Well, that’s the main reason why moms love cooking it at home. Now let’s see how simple and easy to follow the procedures are.

Place the pan over the stove and put it in medium heat. When hot enough, add the cooking oil. Fry the eggs to your desired doneness. After they are perfectly cooked, set aside for later.

Peel the saba bananas and fry them in the same pan. You can keep frying them until they turn crispy, depending on your preference. Set them aside together with fried eggs earlier.

For the giniling part of the dish, sautée the onion and garlic first. Wait for them to turn soft before proceeding to the next step.

Add in the ground beef and ground pork. You may want to put in the beef first since it will take a while before it gets soft and tender. Cook them until their color changes from pink to brown. But you can also taste test to check if they are cooked enough.

Add the three important sauces. Start with the tomato sauce, then the oyster sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Continue stirring until all sauces are mixed well with the meat.

Put in the green peas and cook until it becomes soft. Add the raisins and then season with salt and pepper.

SERVING THE DELICIOUS ARROZ ALA CUBANA

The plating is probably one of the most unique features of the dish.

Arroz Ala Cubana is a delicious rice dish with ground meat, fried egg and fried plantain banana.

It’s fine to serve it like other similar giniling dishes. But since it includes eggs and bananas, they have a specific purpose that has something to do with how the meal is served and presented.

Scoop enough rice and put it on one side of the plate. Get some of the giniling and place it on the other side of the plate. For each serving, add two fried saba bananas. Place them beside the giniling. Then to finish it off, put the egg on top of the rice or the giniling.

A simple dish that gives such an impact, that’s Arroz ala Cubana for you! Time to head to your kitchen and cook this savory dish that I’m sure your family will love.
