What comes first to your mind when you heard “MT. FUJI”? It can be seen from a different angle in any seasons nearby regions. So Let me introduce 11 different spots that you can witness this holy mountain.

This iconic landmark in Japan is well-known because it is the highest mountain in Japan. Aside from that, it is also known for its breathtaking view that it can offer all throughout the year.

When I joined Mt Fuji tour, I remembered while we are inside the bus , our guide shared about Mt. Fuji’s sayings and I quoted.. “If you see Mt. Fuji during your visit in Japan, you will be very very lucky this year” (current year). That beautiful morning while the sky is blue, the Mt. Fuji said Hello to us while we are on our way. It was like the mountain is encouraging us to go and check what else we can see once we get closer.

11 Different Spots That You Can See Mt. Fuji

1. Hakone Area: Lake Ashi Cruise & Owagudani via Hakone Ropeway

Hakone is the southern part of Mt Fuji, known for Onsen area. Geologically Onsen is formed by Volcanic Mountain, Mt Fuji. Hakone is around 2 hours by car or by train from Tokyo. From here, you can enjoy a 25 minutes cruise ride on Lake Ashi with a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji through a Pirate or boat.

You can also enjoy a ropeway ride to Owagudani after the cruise tour. From above, you can still see the Mountain View with white iced in the peak of the Mountain a bit closer. Upon arrival in Owakudani, you can see almost the full mountain here. You must try their black egg which was said will add 7 years to your life if you eat one. Its made in natural Onsen.

3. Kawaguchi-lake & Oishi Park

Kawaguchi Area is in Yamanashi Prefecture, which is the northern part of Mt Fuji. It takes around 1.5-2hrs from Tokyo by bus or train. If you want to see closer view and bigger Mt Fuji, Kawaguchi-lake area is recommended. Oishi Park is the place you can see the combination of Mt fuji and Flowers. Cherry Blossom in Spring (Mar-Apr), Lavender in Summer (Jun-Jul) and Red Ragweed in Autumn (Oct-Nov). “Momiji-kairo” is popular place in autumn, which is the tunnel formed by maple trees continues for around 150m. The lighted up Autumn leaves are the breathtaking night view.

4. Arakurayama Sengen Park

You may have seen this photo, even though you have never heard this park name. Special combination of Pagoda, Mt Fuji and Cherry Blossom. Season for the cherry blossom is from early to mid of April. Arakurayama Sengen Park is 15 mins walk from Shimo- Yoshida sta., which is located from 15 mins train ride from Kawaguchi lake sta.

5. Oshino Hakkai Village & Oshino Shinobi no sato (Ninja Village)

Oshino Hakkai is a small village with eight ponds, can witness picturesque scenery of Mt Fuji, ponds and Japanese traditional house.
“Oshino Shinobi no Sato” is The ninja theme village located in the mountain view over Mt. Fuji. Wear a ninja costume and Enjoy a ninja show, or try shuriken at the shuriken dojo. After strolling through the Japanese garden with the view of Mt. Fuji, you can enjoy a delicious meal of soba.

6. Mishima Sky Walk

A gigantic suspension bridge (length of 400m), which the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. Experience thrilling activities at Forest Adventure, like the Long Zip Slide with the scenery of Mt. Fuji. A cafe and restaurant with the view of Mt Fuji are available.

7. Mt Fuji 5th Station & Climbing Mt Fuji

The 5th Station of the Mt. Fuji is the highest place that you can go with motorcoach and also the starting point of a trail up a mountain. Climbing Mt Fuji is available from July to September only, takes around 2 days to the summit.a

8. Gotemba Premium Outlet Park

Gotemba Premium Outlet Park is the biggest outlet shopping mall in Japan, containing more than 200 stores. Enjoy the view of Mt Fuji as well.

9. Snow Park Yeti on Mt Fuji 2nd Station

If you want to grasp of Mt. fuji and Snow at once, Snow Park Yeti is the one. Yeti is small resort, consisting of two lifts and four runs, opens earlier compare to other resorts which is around end of October.

10. Fuji Safari Park

The Fuji Safari Park is a wildlife park where you can see Mt. Fuji and visitors can take a safari tour of the simulated habitats of freely roaming animals, like lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, cheetahs, elephants, rhinoceroses, zebras and bison. It is one of the largest and the most popular safari parks in Japan.

11. Fuji-Q Highland

Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park with thrilling roller coasters and spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.
