It is a smart bird controller equipped with a camera and wi-fi module and paired with an application that uses machine learning to identify bird species and gamify the collection into an album.
The founders of the project are Žiga Vrtačič, Slovenian developer Franci Zidar and American industrial designer Kyle Buzzard.
The sensor detects the arrival of the bird in the control room and notifies the owner of the control unit via the application. With the help of the application, he can take a photo of a bird that is in a hurry in the birdhouse. The application also uses artificial intelligence to identify the type of bird.
A SUCCESSFUL FIRST DAY IS KEYED FOR A SUCCESSFUL KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN On Kickstarter, people apply for a huge number of projects, but of course not everyone raises enough funds. Bird Buddy obviously seemed “imperial” to people and the results were immediately more than solid. Otherwise - and it’s no secret - the key to a successful Kickstarter campaign is a successful first day. The Bird Buddy smart bird feeder raised as much as 4.189 million euros.
Their next step is to put together a team, which they are currently working on intensively, and they are also preparing plans for product promotion. Certainly, in a year's time, they will no longer be the only manufacturers of smart bird feeders in the global market. The only thing that can set them apart from all future competitors is, of course, the brand. Above all, they will invest a lot in content.
