You are fuller when you become an empty glass

Everyone is free to express their opinion. Your timeline is full of opinions. It doesn't matter what opinion is right, absurd, to the most eccentric, it can decorate your cellphone screen every day. Not all opinions, opinions, remarks you have to respond to. You don't have to reply to all opinions with other opinions.

There are opinions that really can change your life for the good, while there are also those that can make you fall into the abyss of adversity. There are opinions that are just a waste of your time reading them. The choice is yours. Ignoring opinions is easy. However, the problem will appear if you are the one who thinks that. This is where you will finally be tested with the real test.

Maybe you feel you know. It is of course good because you are confident. However, what if feeling knowing turns into feeling 'most' knowing? You feel superior to others. You feel you are the smartest person in your class. You think you understand the world better than your friends. This is where you turn into an unpleasant person. You turn into a nuisance to other people. Not only for others, but also for yourself. There's no benefit in having a sense of knowing best. You think other people's opinions are no better than your own. Makes you arrogant and slowly ignores what other people say.

How do you improve your skills when your brain is full? How do you open your mind, when your own glass can't be poured with water anymore? Where there is water it overflows and will never enter. Any good knowledge will be rejected if you think that you are fuller. Immediately avoid this nature before it's too late.

Stay Foolish, Keep hungry – as Steve Jobs said.

To avoid being annoying then what you can do is become an empty glass. Discard all the water in your glass. Of course what is meant is not simply forgetting all your understandings and thoughts, but assuming you know nothing.

By feeling clueless you will become fuller. You have an open mind. A mind that is ready to accept any input. As long as it's good, you can take it. If you think that opinion is not good for you, you still listen. Because you can see it from the point of view of the person delivering it. You'll understand why he gave his opinion. You will still agree with him. More precisely agree to disagree. Agree to disagree – they say.
