Ban of gamer anglicisms in France
Good evening to all the community.
This Friday I wanted to talk to you about a news concerning the use of foreign language words and the measures taken in some countries in response to it.
Last May a law promoted by the Ministry of Culture was enacted in France, which prohibits the use of anglicisms, that is, words of English origin, in all state institutions.
The list of words which from now on have their respective translation into French language are specifically framed in the technology and video games sector.
Thus, from now on, words such as: Pro gamer= Joueur professionnel
Streamer= Joueur animateur en direct
Cloud gaming= Jeu video en nuase
Esports= Jeu video de competition.
All this measure promulgated by the defenders of the French language. They argue that it will be for the benefit of all society. By being able to facilitate understanding between all people, whether or not they are fans of the world of technology and video games.
