My Story- How it turned around for me (Concluding part)

Like I said in my other post about my story, something unimaginary happened that made my life tough. When I was living with my Aunt, I was called that my mother was ill and that I should come home to take care of her. I went home and I saw my mum lying helplessly and lifelessly on the floor. She couldn't open her eyes but she heard my voice and signalled as a way to tell me she knows I am around. We took my mum to two hospitals where she was diagnosed with Diabetes, and she had a wound also.

According to people, diabetes mustn't come in contact with wound, but she died at the end.

She died on the 11th of June, 2016. Exactly 3 months after her birthday. She celebrated her birthday on the 11th of March and that was the end. I cried for days but what can I do? Life moves on and we continued our lives (I, my siblings and my father) staying in a two room apartment trying to survive.

Let me say something that no woman can ever take the place of a real mother. My dad's family left him alone to cater for all of us but one thing is sure, that "if God be for us who can be against us?"

Though life was so tough for us, my dad stop singing since the death of my mother and there was no work, I mean no job to sustain us. My dad had to start selling bread by the roadside. He has a condemned car he uses to sell the bread and every evening we go to help him. People values bread in the car than the one put on the table for sale. This is how God made customers kept coming to buy from us. It is the daily profit we make that gives us food. That means no sale, no food.

This went on till November 2016 when I got my first job as a teacher. I started supporting my dad with the salary I collect every month which in one way help saved us. I never planned going back to school again but my elder sister pressured me in going back. She had just finished her NYSC then which is National Youth Service Corps (this is a compulsory one year service to their dear country for every graduates in Nigeria who are below 30 years)

I started saving up at least to get a form for my admission. And by God's grace, I was given an admission in the year 2019. God has been helping me since I entered the school, with the help of people around me and those God sent to help me especially in my family after the reconciliation with my Dad.

My elder sister got a job too which helped her in sponsoring me with my school fees and other things I needed in school.

My younger sister finished from the University last year and I was in 300 level in school. I was always ashamed of myself collecting money from her because she sees me as a student who is broke and needed money to survive. Do I have a choice then? I don't, but I kept trusting God for a way out which He did.

I came across Uptrennd fully (an earning platform) in the year 2020 and that begins my turning point. With the help of some friends online, I got to know different platforms where I can put in my writing skills. I started taking care of myself in school with or without money sent from home just because God opened an opportunity for me through my friends who introduced earning platforms to me.

Along the line, I came to know about Hive, Noisecash and Readcash which by the grace of God I am writing in the communities and getting something from them.

Do you know why it turned around for me? Ever since I started working online, I never lacked anything unlike before when there was nothing. I kept borrowing and going from one debt to another. But it changed my life when God made a way for me. Now, I send money home to my Dad and give some to my siblings once in a while.

My younger sister will be celebrating her birthday by the end of this Month and I promised to surprise her.

I just wished my mum is here to see her baby already a grown up and taking responsibility. I miss her everyday and I will keep missing and loving her.

In conclusion, never stop trusting God. He is always there to answer our prayers if only we call to Him. God made a way for me, trust Him to make a way for you too. Thanks for reading my story.

The End!!!
