The Perks of Being a Working Student
Hello read cash family, I just want to share about random thoughts on my pasts and experiences during college days. I just want to discuss about a little achievements of mine, how I finished my studies in college days and what are the things I've been through to surpass a nd achieve all my plans and goals in life.
I came from a poor family, during high schools days I can remember how hard times for us during those days. I can still remember my mom give us a 5 peso penny, during recess in the morning we use some of our money on buying ice water and banana cue. The rest that was left we'll be saved for the whole day for an ice whenever we were thirsty because if we spare it during recess then we don't have nothing to drink after then.
It was really a hard times for us, there are times that we had nothing for the table. I could see my mother crying because we have nothing to eat. We starved and left helpless, my father was a laborer and his source of income can't sustained our needs for the whole year.
So, from then on, I told myself to strive hard to be able to achieve and succeed in our life. I promise to myself that I would become successful and if I got children on my own I would not let them experience the crisis we have been through all those times. I promised to be successful so I could help my parents from the cruelty of life.
After I finished my high school I had stopped for one year because that time my mother send my sister to college and I had to stopped because they can't be able to sustain the expenses if we will be together go to college.
So, I stopped for one year but it does not stop me from achieving my goals and dreams in life. I looked for a job so I could earn and save for my studies. I had tried to work in a gasoline station for just a day and quit coz I've been thinking if I am going to work there I could not be able to go to college.
So I ask and pray everyday that God may send me some instruments and people who could help me achieve my dreams. One time, I attended on a prayer meeting, I was so surprised that God answered my prayer. One of our church members, the wife of our pastor told my mother that there were missionaries who were looking for a caretaker of their house.
The missionaries offer a full scholarship to the students who were also willing to study. So, I was so delighted with the news I heard and without any hesitation I suddenly decided to take the offer to work. I was under observation for one year so I haven't study that year. I worked so hard and shown them my eagerness and willingness to finish studies.
After a year, at last I was grant to study in college , they also offer to let my sister stay in their house and later on, she was also absorbed and offered for a full scholarship. I was so happy that I and my sister working together and live in same house. I thanked God for the big opportunities he has given us and for the answered prayer he granted us.
I also thanked the people who made my dreams come true, inspite of difficulties because we do all the house chores, all around the first floor to second floor. It's such an amazing journey because we had surpassed and do all the impossible things I could not imagine I could do.
There is no impossible to God, I never skipped a chance to pray for him about my future. We have to ask, knock and pray to Him so everything will be impossible. For four years of staying and working as a part time student, all the hardships and sacrifices has been paid.
If you want to achieve and succeed in life, we have to work hard for it and ask for His guidance. He make things possible for us! Don't loose hope and keep your faith!
Thank you for dropping by my read cash family and happy reading!
I really admired students like you, that's not easy though. After school, some are resting or hanging out but the working students will have to attend the jobs, others need to wake up so early . Then comes the exam weeks its also a challenge yet you survived. That's a sweet victory after graduation.
