Simple Ways to Avoid Stress
Stress or sometimes called tension in the Filipino is a situation in which you go through the feeling that you are struggling, anxious, very tired and seemingly hopeless.
Stress is already part of daily life for many people. There is a level of stress that is not destructive. Its moderate level helps the body and mind to face the challenges of difficult problems and during times of crisis.
Some causes of stress or tension can come from one or a combination of the following: financial problems, family or work disagreements, imbalance in the need for time and attention of family and work, having low wages or the homelessness, loss or death of a loved one or friend, quarrel in the family or outside the home, illness, accident, being a victim of violence or other trauma, alcohol or drug abuse, or inadequate nutrition.
Long -term stress can greatly affect a person physically and mentally. This can lead to severe depression or sadness, heart attack, severe headaches, etc.
Here are some relaxation techniques to stave off stress:
Meditate. A few minutes of meditation will help to eliminate anxiety. It’s simple to do, just sit up straight, close your eyes while saying something positive to yourself like “I’m okay” or “I’m calm”.
Breathe deeply. Have a five minute rest and take a deep breath. Sit up straight and breathe slowly. The swelling of the abdomen should be felt while breathing. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. It helps to lower heart rate and blood pressure.
Ask for help. Your family and your friend can help to resolve stress in life. Talk to them in person or even on the phone. Share your problems.
Decompress. Put a warm heat wrap around your neck and shoulders for ten minutes. Close your eyes and relax your face, neck, chest and back. Remove the heat wrap and use a tennis ball or foam roller to massage your muscles.
Laugh. Laughter helps to reduce stress. It reduces cortisol, a stress hormone, in our body and increases endorphins which help us to be happy. Watch a favorite sitcom, movie, read a comic or book or talk to the person who makes you happy.
Listen to music. Music helps to lower blood pressure, heart rate and anxiety. Nature sounds like ocean, stream, birds singing or soothing music help to relax a person.
Exercise. All kinds of exercise help the body release happy hormones. Simple walking or running helps to combat stress and anxiety.
Pray and give thanks. You can write a diary and journal before going to bed or waking up in the morning to remember all the good things that happened to you the day before. Pray to the Lord because He loves you and is ready to listen to your problems.
Have a nice day guys and to you my dear #rusty!
