The coming death of the son of the most prominent in the Village, Zuko, made people very sad. Zuko's best friend, Gaj, always came to his house, where they would eat and drink and play. He also talked about their bow and arrow lessons with Zuko since Zuko was no longer going for lessons. Gaj had found a girl he liked and also practiced his lessons better. According to what he told Zuko, he was the best student.

Zuko told Gaj that in his time staying at home he had learned that he knew how to sing very well.
"Ha! Singing is for girls." Gaj laughed out loud pointing at Zuko.
"Then why do men have voice then?..." Zuko asked.
"That's just how it is, my friend. I don't make the rules. Singing is girl thing." Gaj interrupted.
They walked each other to their houses and that was all for that day.
Time drew near and preparation for the Arrow of death festival was approaching. Young girls and boys were sharpening their knives, arrows and doing their last practice before the main day.
Zuko sat in his room, sad... He wanted to run but he decided he would die.
The King, Queen, Princes and Princess gathered. They all stood at a high tower, decorated with beads and ornaments, leopard skin on their chairs and their guards hand fanning all of them. Beneath the tower, lied horses of the different colours, arranged in a circle, there was a chained lion, closed to a cave, which roared with anger. Old men and women sat at he elders corner, where little kids danced and entertained them.
Now the main part, the competitors! Every young male and female stood with their bow and arrow, stretching their body and hugging their loved ones. The actual best student among every one was a girl Yunni, who Gaj had grown to really like.
Goats where brought out with circles drawn on them. The goal was to shoot the arrow on the circle. As scary as it sounds, a lot of them were used to it.
Zuko laid down on his bed that afternoon. He did not bother going to the field for the festival. He cried and wondered why life was so unfair to him. Of everyone in his village, he was the only one who could not shoot bow and arrows. He sang till he slept, with dried tears on his face.
Meanwhile the King has commanded his guards to get Zuko and commence the culture if penalty. The King was really sad but it would be unfair to change the rule at that point. Zuko was sleeping when they stormed into his house with his mother behind them, crying and begging for mercy. They dragged him off the bed and with blurru vision he couldn't attack or defend himself. With sleepy eyes soaked with tears, three guards with weapons like swords and local guns, held him to the castle. The festival was cut short as people began to cry, he was put in a dungeon where he was going to stay there hungry for seven days being thrown in the wild for hungry lions.
