Jesus did not use his freedom for revenge.
When they insulted him, he didn't react. (1 Peter 2:23)
If you've ever found yourself in a situation where you've been humiliated, robbed of your dignity, and made a fool of yourself, you know that the desire for revenge can be almost overwhelming.
Think about the insults that were poured out on Jesus: they dressed him in a scarlet robe, put a staff in his hand, put a crown of thorns on his head, and began to laugh at him: “Hello, King of the Jews”. Then they spat on him. They took a stick and hit him on the head several times (Mark 27: 27-31).
Then when Jesus was nailed to the cross, the crowd cried out, "He has saved others, save yourself if you are the Christ (Luke 23:35), and" He trusts in God, that God will save him now, if he will. "(Matthew 27:43).
Think about the retaliation that Jesus was capable of! A word from Christ and the armies of heaven would turn Jerusalem into a wasteland of scorched earth. But when they insulted him, he didn't react.
