Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries of the world. So manpower is a great resource in Bangladesh. The will-power and ability that exist in a man for doing some productive work is called manpower. Our country is very rich in manpower but they are very unskilled manpower.
In fact, the active population of a country is regarded as her manpower. So it is reasonable to make our manpower trained, skilled and effective. The population should be turned into human resources. We have too many people but we do not have the right people in right places.
We do not also have enough people in some jobs like dairy men, weavers, potters, agricultural extention workers, pest control advisers, primary school teachers and so on. We need not go to the university for these jobs. An S.S. C or an H.S. C with some practical training is sufficient for these jobs.
The prosperity of a country mostly depends on the proper use of her manpower. Hence our manpower should be properly utilised for her economic development. If we become unable in making the right use of our manpower, our country will lag behind in all respects. So our chief aim is to utilize our manpower effectively.
