Your Self-Portrait
I had just taken some shots at the photo studio and sat down to scan the gallery for the perfect picture. This process was required in order to select the best pictures to pay for.
I took my time scrolling through to the extent that the photographer complained and left the laptop for me to work at my pace.
You would agree with me that it's okay I took my time right? What do you expect of course, it was a birthday photoshoot, so it had to be beautiful.
I didn't want a bad picture to be selected, so I had to look through thoroughly. Same with you, I know.
We all have bad and good photographs of ourselves. Our good photographs are our strengths, abilities, attributes, potentials, which God has embedded in us. Our bad photographs are our weaknesses, failures, faults, errors, defects, inabilities which has happened to us in life.
We all have them - two photographs - but the question I want to ask you today is, which of them are you projecting. A lot of persons have so displayed their bad portraits, that they forget they have a good in them.
They've so dwelled there that they feel that's all there is to their lives. God has embedded so much in you, but why do you relinquish the good picture he is showing you and hold on to the bad photograph that the devil is showing to you.
We all are eager to display our beautiful faces, clothes, hairs, shoes, but when was the last time you displayed your inner good picture. You feel the outer can cover the inner, but you've forgotten that the outer is an expression of the inner.
So many persons spend their time looking at their failure portraits and try all their best to cover up it up, instead of focusing on their success portraits. That's how the devil becloud their minds, making them feel less of themselves.
But when you see yourself the way God sees you and focus on the picture He has made for you, you throw away the bad pictures and forge ahead.
✒️See yourself, not as what you've been (bad portrait), but as what you're going to be (good portrait).
✒️See yourself, not as where you have been (bad portrait), but where you are going (good portrait).
✒️See yourself, not of what you've done (bad portrait), but of what you're going to do (good portrait).
✒️See yourself, not as what you've been through (bad portrait), but as what you'll pull through (good portrait).
✒️ See not your weakness (bad portrait), but the strengths you possess (good portrait).
A good mental picture of yourself should be among your invaluable possessions, because your destiny is determined by the way you see yourself.
I hope you gained value?
Do well to share with me your thoughts.
I don't like being photographed at all.
