Sometimes you just get to that point. Save, save, save. That is what I do. The stock market and the crypto markets have been very kind to me. It's time to put together a "let's blow some money weekend" with the wife. We work very hard, the two of us. And we make good money. We hardly spend any of it. The wife likes to gamble in the casinos. I am not as much of a fan of it as she is. But I don't mind it. It CAN be fun. I will set something up for next month for us to take a quick weekend trip, stay in a hotel, do a little gambling, have a nice lunch, have a nice dinner, and do a little exploring. Something about 2 hours away from home. I am thinking about $1000 ought to do it. Maybe we will get lucky and hit a jackpot to recoup it. But as my grandfather once told me, "It is great to save, and you SHOULD save. But don't forget to take some time to live."

There is an alloted amount for saving and alloted amount for daily/monthly/annu expenses and alloted amount to enjoy life.. that is my way of budgetting 😊 balanced life 😊
Spending money is just difficult for me. lol. That being said, when I DO let loose, I go all in.

Yeah, it comes down to balancing things out. You can save and save and save, but regardless of how much you save you’re gonna die some day anyway. And as they say, you can’t take it with you. It sounds like you and your wife are in agreement about saving and spending, which is great. In our family, I am the saver and my wife is the spender. Makes for some interesting conversations!
It is an interesting dynamic in our house. I control all of the money. But she gets a "nice" allowances that gives her more control over her own spending. Plus, she can use the Discover card any time she wants without permission—although she still asks for permission a lot of the time. I have trained her well? 🤷♂️🤔🤣
We have almost the identical situation, except since stupid Chase bank freaked out that we were in the Philippines and cancelled our joint credit card, (they were the only bank to do that), she no longer has a card with her name on it. So I, the "walking ATM", am brought along on every shopping trip.
