When I used to work in pest control, from time to time a customer would ask me how I could tell the difference between a carpenter ant and a regular large black ant? Even though the correct answer is that you can tell by how many nodes they have and the shape of their thorax (a carpenter ant's thorax is shaped sort of like a Harley Davidson motorcycle gas tank)... I always told them the carpenter ants wore little tool belts. lol

I miss those big black ants. When I was a kid in Pennsylvania you could mess around with them. They didn't sting, and when they tried to bite their jaws couldn't break your skin. Compare that with the damn fire ants in Georgia. Those little bastards have a sting that gives you a sore, irritating welt for a week or so. And they're aggressive as hell!
Oh gosh. Fire ants. Demons of the earth those things. I have heard horror stories.
