  So I have been told. Unfortunately crypto is much harder to make a confident assessment since it produces nothing and there is simply not enough information to make as informed a decision as I'd like.

    Well, BTC has lasted more than a decade, which is longer than most fads or market bubbles. My concern now is that governments will empower their goons, (e.g., IRS), to restrict its growth via taxes.

      In terms of financial markets, a decade is a VERY, VERY short period of time. The stock market is almost 500 years old. Gold is thousands of years old. Bitcoin is not looking better at 12 years old. Just saying. Trends are Nike or Addidas. Not financial markets.

        I agree with all that, but as a mortal human being, and an old one at that, 10 years is a long time for me. So I have to balance the "lifespan" of a financial market against my own.
