I am going to let you in on a little secret. Porwest LOVES braised pork steaks. What is a pork steak you ask? In a nutshell they are basically "pork blade steaks," or "Boston butts." They come from the shoulder of the pig, are thinly cut, usually about 1/4" to 1/2" thick, and it is a bit of Midwestern United States kind of a thing. They are fatty and delicious. And braised they are fork tender. My wife and I use a lot of salad dressings and other sauces, and so we always have bits, or remnants left in the bottles. Most people just throw the bottles away when they can't get anything else out of them. Not me. I take some sort of liquid and put that into a cup. It could be apple juice, some sort of broth, beer, or pretty much anything with flavor. I pour that into the bottle of whatever sauce I have, in this case it is a bottle of barbecue sauce, and then I shake it up to get all of the bits mixed together nicely. I season the pork steaks. In this instance I kept it simple and just seasoned them with a little bit if onion powder, garlic powder, and some curry seasoning. Brown the pork steaks on each side for about three minutes, then pour the bits mixture over them and around them, cover them, and simmer them for about an hour. These are FORK TENDER and DELICIOUS. We will have these tonight with a tossed salad. I am very much looking forward to feeding my face. What is going on your dinner table tonight?

Those look great. I do that trick as well to get everything from the bottle. Very handy.
I waste nothing. I am THAT guy who will cut open a tube of toothpaste and scoop out every last drop. And I am a guy who has no problem affording a new tube. lol
Certainly the way to go with the rising cost of living. I do that myself.
I do this even when things are cheap, because I am cheap. lol
I wouldn't say that I'm cheap. I'm a deal on a budget.
I am not on a budget. I am just simply cheap. lol
LOL!
This is torture for me! Having lived in the southeast, I love my pork barbeque. And I grew up eating grilled ham steaks. Yummy! But ..... my wife is a Seventh Day Adventist, and she does NOT eat pork! :-( So now I no longer eat pork either. (Okay ...... not too much!) The things we do for love.
I don't what I would do without my pork, honestly. It's probably the one meat I tend to eat the most of, and like chicken, can be cooked a gazillion different ways. But I understand the love thing, of course. Not that my wife does not eat salmon for religious reasons or any other reason. She simply does not like salmon. So, I of course do not cook it. So, I just get it when we are out to a restaurant.
Now this made me really hungry. 😋
You are welcome. lol
