Recently I was looking into my Youtube analytics and noticed something. I have a small but continuous viewership coming in from both Publish0x and Read.cash. I've decided to restart blogging about crypto on both platforms.

Today I wanted to introduce you to Yuser, The NFT social media. Want to skip all the reading? Watch the video! (Don't forget to like a subscribe.)

What is Yuser

So what is Yuser? Well it's very similar to many other social medias. It has a main feed and you can scroll up and down and navigate through the various post of others. You can comment and check out other peoples profiles. In likeness it's similar to Instagram. However there are a few differences. Your content can be rewarded! You can also reward others as well and in the near future you can mint your content into NFTs and sell them on the marketplace.

How does rewards work

When you initially install the app you are give Gem Rocks, you then can reward others quality content with these Gem Rocks. Rocks are then converted to Gem stones to the content creator. There are other various task you can do to receive Gem Rocks

To receive Gem Stones you create a post and if it's high quality others may reward you. (An example post listed below.)

Later Gem Stones can also be staked for Gem diamonds, which when incorporated will be a cryptocurrency in the form of an XC-20. Which is the equivalent of an ERC-20 but instead of being on the Ethereum chain it runs on MoonRiver/Moonbeam.

There are other uses for both Gem Stones and Gem Diamonds You can read up more info on the Yuser Medium and Gitbook. As well as all Yuser related info not covered here.

Yuser Post Example

Creating a post is just like any other social media. Simply press the + button, select your image, add caption and upload.

In the future they will also allow you to mint the post as a NFT as well as upload it to the feed and additionally verified people will be able to sell their minted NFTs on the Yuser marketplace.

The Yuser web access has a couple other features. You can connect your account to your Moonriver wallet. (I explain how in the above video.) You can also view the current Yuser NFT marketplace. Currently the only NFTs for sale are NEXTGEMS. These are a limited edition NFT series created by the Yuser Dev team. Each NEXTGEM is unique and has various traits. They also have cool perks that, while not necessary to enjoy Yuser they help the experience with a few added benefits like daily passive Gem Stones and Gem Rocks, the ability to show off on your profile picture and more features coming in the Future.

An example of a NEXTGEM

Now you have the simple explanation of what Yuser is and how it works and lets be honest. Being able to post and interact on social media is easy. The tougher part is gathering a loyal healthy following and successfully having a positive community behind you. I think the Yuser community has a nice solid core so far and that's a solid foundation to build on.

The thing I really like is that Yuser can potentially monetize your social media presence in two ways. Through the Gem reward system and by selling your creations as NFTs. Add in it being among the first movers on the Moonriver Blockchain via Kusama (Polkadots' live Testnet/canary chain) and eventually on the Moonbeam blockchain via Polkadot. I can see potential for the this Social Media to create some waves at least in the Cryptosphere and potentially onward.

Potentially it could fall by the wayside as so many merrit/reward based social media does and I wouldn't fault Yuser Devs if it did. It's just the nature of the beast. Social media is super competitive and Social media with rewards comes with it's own set of problems.

I hope this article helps you discover Yuser and I wish the best of success for anyone who tries it. Thanks for reading.
