The cryptocurrency industry is extremely rich with projects of all kinds. In fact, to say there are too many of them would be an understatement. However, trying different things and using different approaches to solving a single problem is necessary to find the method that works best. Experiments lead to new use cases and the discovery of new ways to use crypto and blockchain technology.

In other words, not every new project is going to be good, and indeed, most of them will just disappear in the end. Some will be eliminated by regulators, some will fail. But there will be successful ones. There are some hidden gems that will find their way, offer valuable use cases, and explode in maybe a month, maybe a year, maybe five years. These are the projects that long-term investors are looking for and I have created the list below for you.

Elrond

First on our list is Elrond, a blockchain protocol that aims to deliver extremely fast transactions, Elrond's idea is to use sharding to bring some of the fastest transactions the crypto industry has ever seen, and it describes itself as "a technology ecosystem for the new internet."

The project aims to incorporate all emerging technologies that can be combined with each other, such as decentralized finance, fintech and IoT, and the blockchain to bring new, complex solutions that will improve our lives and hopefully improve the financial world.

Elrond has developed a smart contract execution platform capable of processing 15,000 TPS, according to the project's own claims. It also has a six-second latency and each transaction is extremely cheap, costing only $0.001. As such, Elrond could be a major contender for the position of the future global currency – a position that Bitcoin should occupy but never achieve due to its own slow, limited technology.

Axie Infinity

Next up is Axie Infinity. Axie is a fairly well-known metaverse project despite its young age. In fact, it is one of the biggest metaverse games and one of the biggest metaverse games. It was inspired by popular games like Tamagotchi and Pokemon and works similarly. Essentially, users can access its vast world to collect, breed, upgrade, fight and trade monsters/creatures known as Axies.

Axis can take a variety of forms, and with users having over 500 body parts, they can change even more as they gain the skill to create highly unique creatures. Each piece of a different class comes with a different rarity scale, so some will be more expensive than others, and creatures with the rarest pieces can be sold for a higher price.

This is possible because every Axi comes in the form of an NFT, meaning users can buy or sell them on third-party markets. They can also breed their monsters to create new ones that they can sell for profit. However, the main use of Axies is for combat, and by winning battles, users can also earn the project's native AXS token, which can be used to buy new monsters and strengthen their teams, or it can be simply withdrawn, cashed out and spent. This so-called win-win (P2E) model is one of the biggest features of projects like Axie Infinity, and as popular as the concept behind the game is, I expect this game to continue to grow over the months and years to come.

Flow

On the third point, there is Flow. This is a decentralized, developer-friendly blockchain project designed to make it extremely fast. The reason for this need for speed is that Flow aims to be the project where next generation games, dApps and digital assets will emerge and want to be able to run them without facing technical difficulties.

Flow is also the single-layer blockchain built by a team that has managed to deliver excellent products over the years, such as Dapper Wallet, NBA Top Shot, and perhaps best of all, the first crypto game.

Flow used the solutions and blockchain products ever invented to learn. He identified their shortcomings and noticed everything they did right. Now, he wants to make a better version of these solutions, in which the right ones will continue, the deficiencies will be corrected and corrected. It now provides things like a multi-role architecture, resource-oriented programming, better consumer engagement, improved developer ergonomics, and the like. As a result, it aims to be the chain of the future and I believe that makes it worth watching.

Clover Finance

Going forward, I have Clover Finance as my fourth top pick. Clover is a project that acts as a blockchain operating system. Simply put, it offers an easy-to-use blockchain infrastructure and a framework compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), making it the go-to place for Substrate-based applications.

With interoperability currently one of the biggest goals of blockchain technology, Clover aims to try and close the compatibility gap between different chains, which will increase the level of interoperability and finally make it a little easier to achieve the dream of the crypto world.

What makes this project unique is that it is designed to offer multiple services to users. It is a true blockchain operating system with its own storage layer, smart contract layer, eApp layer and DeFi protocol layer. In other words, it really contains everything it needs to achieve its goal, so I believe this project has a clear vision of what it wants to do and how it will be done.

Star Atlas

Moving on to number five on our list, there's Star Atlas. This is another blockchain game project, and in this case, a truly massive multiplayer online game housed in a blockchain-based metadata just like Axie. The world is built on Unreal Engine five, allowing the game to deliver real-time events and cinematic quality.

Star Atlas is a game set in the year 2620 in a futuristic sci-fi world. It has three major factions competing for resources and control of land. One includes humanity, the other a consortium of various alien races, and the last includes sentient androids. The game combines a number of different genres and requires players to strategize and develop tactical plans for how to interact with other players and other factions.

Meanwhile, the main goal is to roam the stars and planets, discover and find new resources and beat the others to them. Along the way, players can also use said resources and generate revenue streams by doing so, adding a role-playing element to the game. The game is complex and interesting, which is what has already captivated many players, the more likely it will come as adoption begins and more people learn about what Star Atlas has to offer.

Only1

In sixth place is Only1, the first NFT-powered social media website built on Solana's blockchain. Frankly, social media transformed the internet when it started popping up nearly two decades ago. Therefore, it is unlikely that it will ever go away. But the problem with it is that it is heavily centralized and users will start looking for its decentralized version sooner or later.

That's why platforms like Only1 are expected to explode in the future. Based on the most scalable blockchain to date, this proprietary platform allows social media users to feel more connected with their favorite creators on the platform. Typically, on traditional platforms, creators have to go through a variety of intermediaries to create and sell their products, pay for ads and announcements, and enter partnerships for promotion. Only1 does away with all that with two new mechanics.

The first is Creator Genesis NFT, which allows every established creator to print a Genesis NFT that they can use to access various benefits. They can also deposit the platform's native token in LIKE. The second is Content NFT farming, which allows creators to publish exclusive content in the NFT format, which is then sold on the platform's home market. Users can purchase, view and own this content and be the only one with access to the content.

Audius

Finally, last on the list is Audius, a decentralized music streaming protocol that originated on the POA network but was later ported to Solana. The project was implemented to find solutions to the problems of the music industry, which has been struggling with the same problems for decades.

Some of the troubling issues include the lack of transparency when it comes to ownership of music rights and the very high prices that brokers charge artists to make their work available to the public. Audius aims to eliminate as many middlemen as possible and allow creators to upload their work at extremely cheap prices, or even completely free. As a result, it will enable artists and audiences to form a more direct connection and develop a lasting relationship.

It also allows creators to receive rewards for their work, which can also be found on weekly trending lists. But in the future, the project will integrate stablecoins for artists to deliver paid content and get paid directly for it.

Of course, you can't make a lot of money in a day. It is never possible to win all at once.
