Noli Me Tangere is a Latin word that means in English it is Touch Me Not or Huwag mo akong salingin in Filipino. This is from the Gospel of John and written by Dr. Jose P. Rizal in 1884 in Madrid while he was studying Medicine. After completing his studies, Rizal traveled to Paris and continued writing Noli Me Tangere. It was in Berlin that he finished the last part of the novel. Among the notable Noli Me Tangere personnel are Crisostomo Ibarra, Captain Tiyago, Lieutenant Guevarra, Padre Damaso, Sisa, Basilio and Crispin, Maria Clara and many others.
