Yet, energize each other for quite a while, as long as it is still called "Today," in case any of you be solidified by the misdirection of transgression.
Hebrews 3:13
A couple of years prior, I was experiencing a tough situation throughout everyday life. It appeared as though everybody was against me. My principle job around then was attempting to keep the half of the individuals who didn't care for me away from the half who didn't know. (I'm kidding obviously, yet it felt that way.) During those dim days, I would plunk down to peruse my mail and regularly find mysterious letters loaded with demoralization. Have you ever been there? Have you ever encountered a large group of demoralizing voices?
As I was sinking into the pit of gloom, a dear companion of mine offered me some sound advice. He stated, "Jeff, quit zeroing in on those individuals who are furious about you, and begin zeroing in on the individuals who love you. So consider the possibility that you had three individuals grumble and whine about you today. You have over 1,000 who are satisfied with you and the job you are doing. Zero in on them!"
That was GREAT exhortation. That was an empowering word. That was a message I expected to hear.
Consolation
God makes it clear in His Word that we are to support each other every single day. We are to express healthy words that enlighten and develop, not spoiled words that dishearten and destroy (Ephesians 4:29). Support can have a significant effect to somebody who is battling. Mark Twain once stated, "One commendation can prop me up for an entire month." WOW! There is power in an empowering word!
Maybe you are very little of an encourager. Maybe you will in general observe the negatives and not the positives. Maybe you are a fussbudget who is never truly satisfied enough with any person or thing to voice an expression of consolation. All things considered, maybe you have to change! God needs you to begin empowering individuals. He needs you to begin TODAY!
NOTES, CALLS, MEETINGS
How might you obey Hebrews 3:13 today? Why not start with an empowering note, or email, or text, or call to a companion or adored one? Why not go into a work partner's and boast on him/her for a job all around done? Why not plunk down with your kid and gloat on his/her great characteristics. Why not plunk down with your better half and let her skill much you value her for everything she does? (Why not state it with blossoms?) Why not plunk down with your better half and boast on his penance in accommodating the family? (Why not state it with undergarments? Man, I trust my better half understands this!)
And keeping in mind that you are busy, begin empowering yourself! Fill your brain with expressions of confidence and triumph. Practice Philippians 4:8, "At long last, brethren, whatever is valid, whatever is decent, whatever is correct, whatever is unadulterated, whatever is beautiful, whatever is of acceptable notoriety, if there is any greatness and on the off chance that anything deserving of applause, let your psyche harp on these things." You are somebody who is exceptional and valuable to God. He has incredible and awesome designs for you. Trust it and get it this day! BE ENCOURAGED, in Jesus' name!
