Do everything without protesting or contesting; that you may demonstrate yourselves to be faultless and blameless, offspring of God unquestionably sound amidst a screwy and perverse age, among whom you show up as lights on the planet. Philippians 2:14-15
Have you ever been on a long vehicle trip and your cooling goes out? Debbie and Amy (our center little girl) and I headed to Austin, Texas last June with no a/c. Most definitely, it was a long, hot drive. To aggravate the circumstance, we got into a five-vehicle heap up on the interstate and had to look out for the police for two hours (in the sun). Our six-hour excursion to Austin wound up taking around nine hours. It was a significant test for me - and I got an "F-". I protested and grumbled and griped the entire way. UGH!
Following 47 years on this planet, I have taken in a significant exercise about myself: I am great at protesting. I can do it without contemplating it. It just falls into place without a hitch for me. Does it for you as well?
The Scripture above orders us to "do everything without protesting." what number things? ALL THINGS! In the Greek, the word for protesting is goggusmos - what an ideal word for it! Goggusmos is a word that seems like its significance (likeness in sound). Let's assume it resoundingly and tune in to the protesting and mumbling in the way to express it. The Lord reveals to His youngsters, "No goggusmos, kids!" in all things, offer gratitude - not issue and objections (1 Thes. 5:18).
THREE LITTLE SINS?
There are three "little sins" that penetrate our every day lives in such an unobtrusive manner that we don't see it. These three apparently minor sins resemble termites that consume the harmony, euphoria and intensity of the Christian life. Will you notice the "little three" and focus on destroying them from your life?
1. Protesting. On the off chance that you will keep Phil. 2:14-15 on the front line of your psyche, you will be astounded at the amount you whine and issue about things in your day to day existence. The more mindful you are, the more viable you can be at making changes in your every day discussion. At the point when David was agreeing through horrible conditions in his day to day existence he stated, "I will favor the Lord consistently; His acclaim will ceaselessly be in my mouth" (Ps. 34:1).
2. Tattling. "Have you heard what I caught wind of Pastor Jones?" "No, however tell (so I have something delicious to tell others)." Gossip is wild among endless Christians, and it is so damaging. It crushes individuals, families, holy places, and developments of God. The Lord HATES tattle. He detests it when we spread hardship among siblings (Prov. 6:19). Is it true that you are a tattle? "God help us, not me," you state. Tune in: tattle is a ton like awful breath, you can identify it on others yet not on yourself. Ask somebody you love and trust to check your "tattle breath." Make the pledge to not share tattle and not hear it out! It is the fiend's toxic substance that takes, slaughters and obliterates.
3. Smelling Thinking. Philippians 4:8 advises us to think just on the things that are valid, good, right, unadulterated, exquisite and laudable. We have to fill our brains, hearts and mouths with expressions of confidence and triumph, not expressions of unbelief and thrashing. Put a gatekeeper on the entryway of your brain. Try not to give anything access that doesn't breeze through the Philippians 4:8 assessment.
THE RESULT?
You will be astounded at how your life will improve as you kill these three "little sins," these three illnesses of brain and mouth. Harmony, euphoria and confidence will supplant the negative, frightful, protesting, sharp aura that so numerous unwittingly have and unknowingly share with others consistently. Will you take the test? You will have everything to pick up and nothing to lose, aside from the goggusmos!
