Been working away for the last couple of weeks. Just as we are ready to go home the heavy snow came so we grabbed a hot breakfast while the plough cleared the roads!

@Picturelover

A picture from last night on my way home from work. Even though I stayed here for 45 years, the scenery still amazes me.

@Picturelover

I popped along the beach from where I stay to see if my old dad was having much luck at the fishing. While I was there he caught several fish including a nice sea bass(pic 3) which he gave me to take home for my dinner tonight. 🎣🎣

Started an account over on the other space... https://noise.app/Picturelover I know a few of you are only interested in those who you can rely on for free bch rather than the actual content itself. If that's you please don't be following, everyone else is more than welcome....that is all!πŸ˜‚

I've got some home made wine fermenting made from a mix of wild berries collected locally. Hopefully this batch turns out better than the last lot as I forgot to add water to the air lock causing it to turn to vinegar!🍷🍷🍷

A rare nights sea fishing last night with my dad and his pal along the coast. The time of year is coming where the sea bass go out to deeper water but still managed to get one for my dinner tonight! 🎣

@Picturelover

With the sunshine over for the time being here I went out to try a few spots along the coast with the rods on a rare day off from work. I was after sea bass for my dinner but was unsuccessful however I did manage to land a few other species.

I was at an open day held by the Royal National Life Boat crew at Troon, which is a small town a few miles up the coast from where I live in Ayr. It was to celebrate 150 years of the RNLI in Troon which is a charity that does search and rescue around the coast of the UK. These guys put their lives at risk to save people in trouble at sea in all weather conditions.

Another fishing trip with my dad and brother. We caught thornback rays, sea bass and dog fish with my old dad catching the most...again!πŸ˜‚πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

Took a drive down the coast to Cairnryan to collect my dad off the ferry from Belfast in Northern Ireland. Ferry was delayed but its here now... should have brought my fishing rods for while I was waiting!

After 3 vaccinations and 2 previous positive tests for the virus over the last 2 years, I've tested positive again! Even though I only have a slight temperature and a headache I still need to isolate for 5 days! I was hoping at this stage we could move on from the dreaded lurgy but here we are!!😷😷

@Picturelover

Managed put for a few hours in fishing last night at sunset. It's the time of year when the sea bass come in which are great eating fish. I caught 2 so looking forward to dinner tonight! 🎣🎣

Not often I walk in this part of town and it's the first time I've had a proper look at the small hydro-electric turbine that has been built at the dam on the local river to provide the college (big building on the left) with renewable enegy at a cost of 1 million pounds ffs! While I admire the principle, this is not only an eyesore but the river here barely moves in the summer months!! It will be interesting to see whether the numbers generated by the turbine in the next year justify the cost.

Been way too busy with work lately so I took some time yesterday to go out with my dogs and my brother with his dog to let them run about and have some fun for a bit. Luckily the weather was decent enough for them to have a splash!

@Picturelover

Went out fishing yesterday at a mark along the Ayrshire coast. It'll be the last day out for a week or two as I've a big job on at work so at least a few fish showed up with a nice dog fish and a flounder.

@Picturelover

Went out fishing today with my brother. He out done me with a nice thornback ray while I only caught a small but welcome plaice roughly 41cm long. Both fish were returned to fight another day. 🎣

@Picturelover

Finished early today after 14 straight days at work. Now taking the dog along the shore front in this great weather were having before getting the bbq out later!

@Picturelover

Another night out fishing last night. Quite a few species caught including a thornback ray but no good sized eating fish!

The start of storm Eunice hitting us in the south west of Scotland. I don't think well see the worst of it here!

@Picturelover

I was out for a night session fishing with my dad last night and caught a nice 3lb sea bass, one of the best eating fish you can get around these parts. Not many of these around at this time of year so this was very welcome and will make for a great dinner tonight! 🎣

@Picturelover

Finally caught my first flat fish of the new year after several blank days here in the south west of Scotland! The fish started biting just as the sun set. Unfortunately these were not very big so released them back into the sea.

Starting 2022 with one of my favourite pastimes on the beach along from my house here on the Ayrshire coast. Hope everyone has a great 2022!

@Picturelover

Just got my covid booster jab, this time the Pfizer after getting 2 Astra Zenicas improving my invincibility! πŸ€” Hope this works as I had to stand in line for nearly 2 hours at the centre in the freezing cold, wind and icy rain! πŸ’ͺ

Quick walk along the beach in Ayr with the dog. Looks like we'd better be quick as there's heavy rain inbound. β˜”β›ˆοΈ

Sad news today that Walter Smith, ex Rangers, Everton & Scotland manager has passed away aged 72. A true legend and absolute gentleman, he will be sadly missed. RIP Watty Smith OBE

Guys, I'm deep in middle age and the cogs are starting to come off the wheels a little so I'm decided to try and give up cigarettes. Has anyone here succeeded in giving up smoking cigarettes and how did you manage? Any advice will be gratefully received.πŸ‘

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Premier League 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Dundee FC 0 - 1 Glasgow Rangers Hearts 3 - 0 Livingston Motherwell 2 - 1 Ross County The top 3 won today in the SPL. Rangers stay top of the division with a goal from Aribo meaning the pressure is on Celtic to beat Dundee United tomorrow. Fingers crossed they don't lol!🀞

My local team, Ayr Utd, have been reprimanded after fielding 2 ineligible players against Glasgow Rangers in the SPFL Trust Trophy, a game Ayr Utd won 3-0 on the day at Somerset Park. As a result, Ayr has been officially warned and the result has been reversed to make it 3-0 to Rangers, dumping Ayr Utd out the cup. No financial penalty was awarded. Even though it is an insignificant trophy, Ayr are a small team so it will no doubt hurt their pockets at the gates after losing the next round match. It shows the financial hardship lower league Scottish sides are currently facing. Good luck to Glasgow Rangers B team going forward, at least it wasn't Celtic benefiting lol!
