Covid-19 in the Philippines is a very challenging times; not only to the health systems and politics but also to the economic standpoint.
Many People were unnemployed even fresh graduates, OFW's returning to their homes being jobless from the country where they were before, Many Micro to Medium businesses were struggling and closed, travel restrictions and more.
What's is connection of these to QR Codes? Please read further.
Remaining Businesses who were still standing were still struggling to reach out their customers plus to comply with governments policies of promoting contactless payments/transactions/ and Contact tracing to prevent the further spread of covid-19.
They're Solution? Guess what?
Having QR Codes in contact tracing and sometimes as payment method.
Is this useless? Technically No but...
its not a secret that PH has problems with internet connection and thats make QRs Useless. How will you pay your bill thru Online wallet if you need an internet before you can access your wallet? and How will you answer a Contact tracing form that needs internet connection to connect into?
This QR Codes sometimes forbids customer to entering the business premises as to manual contact tracing forms were unavailable. turns out, many businesses hurt more because these QRs are useless when internet is out of question.
i hope one day, they will realize that pushing the technology is good but they still need to consider that not everyone has internet connection from time to time.
I remember i saw someone posted on facebook about QR code. It is in his ID. But when he tried to scan it using his phone it directs him into a Taylor Swift song. Weird🤣
