Today our Filipino native player in chess are the one of the strongest player in the world. But sadly, he prefers to live at the USA and use to represent USA than Philippines.
Look at this, Wesley So are the top 5 greatest player of all time by reaching the rating of 2822.
Now, the reason why he leaves Philippines are because of this:
1.) Lack of support from the government.
Yes it's true, when Wesley represents the Philippines he says to the interview that the salary of the athlete here in the Philippines are not enough to support the daily needs, training and bills.
2.) Not enough to gain experience in Philippines.
Today we have more than 10 Grandmasters here in the Philippines and 1 Women Grandmaster but the reason why Wesley So leaves is because he wants to gain more knowledge and expand his ability in to different country.
3.) The issue between Wesley and NCFP.
Based on other side, Wesley leaves the Philippines because NCFP did not notify his career in winning in the outside tournaments and NCFP still has no response to notice that our Champion GM Wesley So dominates other country. Another issue is because the president of NCFP did not treat Wesley So well when he lives in the Philippines.
4.) USA offers a very good salary, future and etc. to represent their country.
Yes, Wesley So represents USA than our country, and i think because he knows that he had a better future and stable life in USA of course everyone wants a better future in their life. And I believe that if Wesley did not leaves the Philippines he did not do what he wants as well. I salute you Mr. So for being wise and choosing your future than the future of others.
