In our age, women are the ones who are more interested, more open, more curious, more sensitive to the values of life, than we men.
I state and experience this quite seriously. I have looked into how it is, how it happens. In a way I am biased, because my first spiritual master and friend was my mother. From her I learned all the things, that I then received from life. I have been given a kind of female initiation, to put it like that. So perhaps I understand the female psyche a little better.
But, a fundamental question here needs to be clarified right at the beginning, that the status of women has been in disgrace for thousands of years. It's this patriarchal, male-centric view that dominates all our philosophies, dominates all our politics and unfortunately dominates all our religious traditions. It has become untenable.
I looked it up, because I was interested to see, how poorly the figure of Mary is portrayed in the Gospel. Yes poorly, because she barely speaks. While she gives birth to Jesus, the angels come and then she disappears. As a mother she is there, but then she disappears. She shows up once, but then her son doesn't want to talk to her. One day, she asks his son to use his miraculous powers to make wine, because it was running out at a wedding.
I had to look it up. Today, we no longer know this, because the Christian tradition has noticed this imbalance and has incorporated the cult of Mary into the Roman Catholic Church in the first place.
In a book, that is essentially about the tragedy of Adam, the writer describes, how the men makes a contract with the devil. And he makes the world, he makes history, he dreams of a new age, which will be more and more shabby.
The other part, the female part, which was torn from his rib. He drags Eve along and ruins her with him and sometimes he recognises her, sometimes he doesn't and when he has made a complete mess of the world, when it is no longer possible to continue, when he says it's all over and he wants to jump off the cliff, Eve tells him to stop.
She saves the world. In the end, the woman appears as the saviour. She says, I feel like a mother, O Adam. In the last minute, the monomaniacal, the world-destroying, too clever, too aggressive "man made world", was saved by her.
When Adam wakes up dazed from half-death, he hears God telling him to pay more attention to your wife from now on.
Pay attention to the Eves, because they hear my messages. That's why every real man nowadays pays attention and listens to their wives. As if there was something more sensitive there, as if there was something deeper to hear.
Our age is an exciting age, because it is not centuries-old, but millennia-old values that crackle, die and a new world is born. The seeds of this new world are primarily in women. Women are expected to create a kind of new world, that can be much more advanced, than the one we have created.
Anyone who does not see it that way is wrong. Anyone who says, that women have a secondary role, that their faces have to be veiled, that they are slaves, that they are only good for giving birth and can be dismissed after giving birth and raising children. This is the kind of attitude, that assigns women a lesser role, in all aspects of society, in terms of pay, in terms of recognition. That is over now.
Here I would add that, to be born a woman and to assert herself, which is a big problem at the moment, she is forced to shine male virtues. If a woman makes a career and makes it big, becomes a company director or a prime minister, she is forced to be more masculine, than a man.
It is not so much that she works in a managerial position, because it is so much a man's thing, that she is a wiser, gentler, less aggressive, less ambitious, but the more loving, the more motherly wisdom she exudes with her power over her subordinates, but more aggressive, more impudent, more ruthless, than any man.
It used to be known that a woman has a thousand faces. In Greek mythology, there were many female Gods. One was the Goddess of the womb, another was the Goddess of the home, a third was the Goddess of the earth, fertility and so on. The hunter Goddess absolutely did not need a man to make her happy.
It is absolutely not true that a woman's only job is to be a mother. This is where the world is very very misguided as such a social expectation and the undeniable fact, that motherhood can be the crowning glory of a woman's existence. This is not the case.
Some women have fulfilled lives, that do not include children. Not true is the otherwise unconscious longing of a woman, reinforced by a social subconscious, that you are only a woman if you have children. This is not a spiritual, but a very biological approach to women.
It is not easy being a woman, but many women would not give up being a woman, because they have found themselves in it. However, if they think about it, they can see, that men are better off, because at least they don't have to dig themselves through the trenches, that a man is born with.
It is not an easy situation for a woman today. For many reasons. First of all, she has a lot of different roles to play. She has to be a lover, a mother, a breadwinner, the brains of the family. She has to have time for everything. She puts an immense amount of energy into it. She works, earns money, cooks, does the laundry, cleans, gives birth, raises children.
A woman can be a very good lover and wife, but a terrible mother, or a woman can be a not so good wife, but a wonderful mother. The big question here is what a woman should do if she cannot find a man. If she does, it is an enviable fate for a woman. If she does not find one, then everything is allowed to a woman, in my conception, that is necessary for her self-defence, just as, in my opinion, a slave, a despised person, is allowed to protect her own dignity.
I think all kinds of female self-defence tricks are justified, because she has to fight and protect herself and in many cases her family from an unfavourable situation.
