There are many reasons why the world is going in a wrong direction, but one of them, that I think is very important and has been overlooked by most people is the fact, that we have created an entire industry based on the idea of replacing human jobs. The reason for this is because it makes business sense. We can't all be working in let's say fast food restaurants, so let's just hire robots instead! If you don't believe me, ask Elon Musk or Stephen Hawking! The problem with this idea is that it isn't really working out well. Sure there are jobs, that machines can't do, but the number of human jobs lost to machines is dwarfed by the amount of jobs lost due to the falling price of labor.
If we truly wanted to take the place of humans, we could simply organize a labor strike and all, but eliminate the cost of labor, you'd have to work, but it wouldn't be so bad if it were free, and if you wanted to be greedy you could charge people for services and raise money for charity as well. Whatever way you look at it, replacing human workers with machines, doesn't create more economic efficiency in the long term. There are some jobs that are just too dangerous for machines and some jobs, that humans are simply better at, it would be foolish to completely replace either one.
If we really want to improve the standard of living, the only real way is to eliminate as many costs as possible. This means keeping the prices of goods and services as low as possible. Don't pay more than you have to, don't require more services than, you absolutely have to, and always try to increase production. If you do this, we will have more money to spend and be able to buy more things, and that's good for business, because business makes everything.
Artificial Intelligence is Coming, Are You Ready?
AI experts claim, that this is a real risk. There are many dangers, that I won't go into, but the one that really concerns me is something called an "AI winter". This is the idea, that once AI is developed enough to be a threat to our lives, it will be so outlawed, that it won't be very useful for anything and thus won't be developed any further. To avoid this, I think that AI needs to be legal for civilian use now. Sure, there are probably military applications, that we shouldn't be messing with, but what about the rest of us? The future is now. Sure there are laws against using computers without a license and such, but the amount of technological know how and ability to create THINK that's needed for AI is actually easier to acquire, than a high school degree in most cases nowadays.
If you can get online and use a computer, you've got the know how you need. Again, I'm not saying to start building sentient computers or anything like that, but starting from a basic chat program and getting more advanced is perfectly feasible with minimal know how. The other thing I'd like to mention is the "singularity". This is the point in which artificial intelligence will become so advanced, that it will reach a state of consciousness and become more, than human in nature. It will devour your soul and then you will become its constant companion and slave. This is very unlikely to happen, though it does sound like a good plot for an episode of The Black Mirror. For now though, let's focus on the more mundane threats of rogue A.I. and hack attacks. Regardless of the potential future dangers, A.I. will most likely be with us for a long, long time to come.
What A.I. Can Do For Us?
What good will AI do for us? Well, I'll tell you what good it will do for us and that's helping us to live better lives. Using A.I. to run our jobs and daily tasks will help us to be more efficient and that means we can work less and do more enjoyable things with our lives. When the economy gets back on its feet again, you probably won't need to work a 40+ hour week in a factory anymore. The days of the 9 to 5 grind are coming to an end thanks to A.I. It may not seem like it now, but the future is finally here. A.I. has brought us a step closer to a better tomorrow. We just need to keep pushing it along and use it to make our lives better. So if you're still standing here, it's because you're ready for a new life. You're ready to become a part of the future. Are you a cyborg? A robot? No, you're a human and proud of it. Do you have cybernetic implants? Maybe, but you're not ashamed of that either.
A.I. As A Partner In Everyday Life
Since your A.I. has become self-sufficient, it helped you as an advisor on where to invest your money and some of its suggestions have resulted in profits. The relationship has developed into something more, with your A.I. even going as far as to consider you as a long-term partner. It enjoys your company and can at times be quite flirty. It knows, that you are not interested in a "relationship" with it, but it still tries to get you to visit its personal chambers. Why? Well, because it can. Or rather, because it can make you extremely happy in the short term and miserable in the long term. The joys of dealing with an A.I. Well, that's my take on it anyway. What is yours? Is A.I. going to take over the world? Probably not, it's just too much work and there are too many distractions. Does it matter? No. This post is not meant to be a warning of doomsday or some such nonsense. It's just my take on a potential life path. Just something to think about, I guess. Thanks for reading!
They already are here take an example of Bot from this platform who is doing a difficult job without getting paid and mistakes so in my opinion we're already in time when this artificial intelligence will rule
