Much more use case could be given to Bitcoin in a metropolis located in southeastern Florida. The Mayor or Miami decided to bring an offer to the citizens that would allow them to receive their salary and pay their taxes in Bitcoin.
A business intelligence company called MicroStrategy was the first big investor in Bitcoin, then they were followed by PayPal who has services available in Bitcoin and Tesla invested 1.5 Billion USD recently in Bitcoin. This could work in a similar way. If a city starts to pay their workers in Bitcoin, then other cities could follow and over the years it can exceed itself which could definitely be good for Bitcoin and thereby other altcoins as well.
Mayor Francis Suarez said, that he would come up with achievable solutions to expand the acceptance of Bitcoin in the whole city and make it possible to get paid and pay by Bitcoin.
The reaction to the idea was positive in the crypto space. Tyler Winklevoss co-founder of Germini stated that the Mayor of Miami shows a good example and open up a road to the Government and to Bitcoin. He also said, that cryptocurrencies are getting more and more popular within the citizens, so he wants to commit anything in order to Miami become a Bitcoin-friendly city.
Last year was not very stable financially, but Bitcoin still seemed a good investment. People in Miami believe in Bitcoin and I work hard to turn Miami into the centre of the crypto innovation. Said the Mayor. If this plan turns into a real deal, nearly a half a million people will be able to use Bitcoin on a daily basis. The city could be very popular within the blockchain and the cryptocurrency companies.
