If you can remember back to the past, even in the world of art Michael Jackson or Freddie Mercury, they are living legends today, because they dared to be different or in the business world Elon Musk or Richard Branson. In some ways they are unique. There is something charismatic about them, that is specific to their personality. Why did I bring this example here? Now think of how many cases there are, where we put on different masks, because we are trying to be other, than who we really are.
We try to fit in with our parents, with our communities, with our partners, with a group of friends. We always put on some kind of mask. By doing this we can't be ourselves, because we're afraid, that if we were ourselves, we wouldn't be so likeable.
Why Do You Want To Be Different? Why Is Who You Are Not Good For You?
Believe me, you who are reading this article, that every person is unique. Every person has a talent, a strength that is unique to them out of 10,000 people. That something is in you. It's in me. When I was a teenager, I always tried to compare myself to someone, who was a little more likeable in the public sector, but I found that it takes energy. It gets the attention. You have to constantly maintain what you want to see out of yourself right now, but if it's not you, if it's somebody else you're trying to imitate, then in many cases you're not being authentic with yourself.
Dare To Stand Out
There will definitely be a time in the beginning when a lot of people will distance themselves from you and you will feel left out, just like Richard Branson did, or even Elon Musk did in the beginning. They were seen as crazy, aliens of some kind. Until the moment they put something on the table, but from then on, when they had a track record behind them, they were no longer doubted.
Nowadays, it is very trendy for young people to try to be like stars. Whether it's externally or internally, something always comes up, something trendy, then they try to adapt to it. But why do you always have to follow something, that in many cases you cannot identify with? Just because there is a kind of external expectation from the outside world? Or because our friends and acquaintances have joined in? And we do not dare, do not want to stand out?
If you give of yourself and accept, that there will be people, who will like you less, who will love you less, and you get to the point, where you don't need to be constantly reinforced from the outside, then you have arrived. You have found your way back to that ancient source, that is within you. Because you know, that everything flows out of you. As you feel within, as you are constantly empowered within, your environment will pick up that energy.
Would you talk to your friends, your acquaintances, either about the spiritual world or about the laws of the Universe, so to speak, would you have a feeling of what they would think? There's a lot of information on the web these days about this, I would say too much. It is precisely, because of the confusion, that the real information gets lost. Now I don't know if this is consciously manipulated or if it is just spontaneously the law of the world now. It's a mystery to me too, but it's not important to deal with.
The key idea of this article itself can be traced back here. To not want to be other, than who you are. This is not to say, that you shouldn't improve, that you shouldn't polish the diamond inside you. Do it! Get better and better. Work on your character, your attitude to be a little more refined. To become a little bit better person, day by day and in your continuous improvement, that will get you results.
Let's run through it again, because it's very important to repeat, just like in school. Dare to be unique. A lot of kids suffer from this "must do" to join a group, because if they don't, they're excluded. Ignore it. Be strong within yourself. Don't put on masks, don't try to be other than who you are. Do not want to be like others. You are unique. This uniqueness will bring you the fruit you desire. There are two things you can do divinely well on this earth.
If you find what your mission is here on this earth, what you feel strongest at, and if you top it off by doing what you love every single day, what you're passionate about. Those two links will bring you to the point, where whatever deadlocks you have in your life, or whatever little intermittent setbacks you experience, you will treat them as learning.
Always as a cycle of improvement. There will be a satisfaction in that, that I'm finally on the right track and not comparing myself to others. I'm thinking about, where I was 1 year ago, 2 years ago, 3 years ago, 4 years ago, 5 years ago and where I am now in comparison. Every day I've done just a little bit to improve.
These milestones, if you incorporate them into your life day by day, as a routine habit, then your personality itself will be in a constant state of change. Which is what you so truly desire deep down, but don't compare yourself to others. Be unique. Dare to stand out.
Unfortunately, I have to say that, there will be people who will distance themselves from you, who will identify more with the people that society accepts, who are the majority. This is absolutely not to qualify anyone, nor to offend, because they are still at the level of consciousness, that they have accepted that they don't want to change. They don't want to evolve. Everything is fine in their lives as it is.
Imagine if you've been suffering from illness for a long time, you're uncomfortable, you're bored or you have no ambition, it's all because somewhere you've lost your purpose. Somehow you no longer want to create, somehow you no longer want to put in the effort.
These bad dynamics, that you have inside you take the energy out of that process and you just suffer and keep spinning yourself in a wheel. Never hurt the person who is a little bit out of line. You don't know what kind of life journey they have been through. You don't know what bag they carry on their back. How much suffering they have been through. Your judgment may be taking their lives in an even worse direction.
If you can, you'd better lift them up, help them, because you have the chance with a little smile, a gesture, a little thoughtfulness. You can always do something. You don't have to think about big financial things here. Why be unique? Because you're not an impersonator. Because you're not an imitation. Because you are one of a kind.
Indeed. I am one of a kind. I remember this quote from RM, my favorite artist.
"You are not perfect, but you are limited edition."
This is perfect for me, who still blends somehow with the societal norms around me.
