Hold on, there's not much left to do, a friend or family member encourages you, just as you feel your days are over, you're running out of breath and your strength is failing you. You'd like to give up right now and stop, but the encouragement grows stronger as you slowly approach your goal and you know that if you stop now, all your efforts will be for nothing.
Is perseverance something that can be learned, or is it something that everyone has in their own way? It's not something you learn and know from there. If it could be learnt, we could achieve anything at any time using our knowledge. Perseverance in any given situation, sport, job or anything that causes difficulty is a short term resource. It can be very tiring and quickly exhausts everyone.
If we drive and focus on something important all day long, by the time we get home we won't have the energy or the desire to do anything, and our relationship may be alienated. We spend the whole day waiting to get home and relax. But at home, the "second shift" begins, which requires even more stamina and willpower.
"There is no willpower that is not exhausted at some point. Even if we climb the highest mountain of all, it does not mean that there is no peak that will not catch us." - Gábor Szendi
Developing Perseverance And Motivation
If it cannot be learned, it can at least be developed, so that we can be more persistent, even in the long term, in achieving our goals and our willpower can be stronger. Yes, we need all these things in the long term, but the problem is mostly a lack of motivation, which is needed for willpower and perseverance.
What do I mean by willpower? What does it mean to want something badly?
Let's not worry about our fears of what will happen if we don't achieve something. Focus on what we want to achieve. The weight of will in motivation is often incomprehensible to us. We keep saying "it will happen, we just have to want it", but in the end we do nothing. We act when it's too late, because that's what brings out the will, but it would be better, if we could do it without pain and suffering.
Perseverance alone is not enough, we also need the will. A decision can only be made with will, which requires perseverance to keep focused on the goal. If the will is weakened, it must be strengthened to make even the most difficult changes.
This is also true in relationships. It is said that "getting someone is easy, but keeping them is hard", because once you have been together for years and everything becomes natural in the relationship, there is no point in bothering about it. Here again, the goal should be to maintain the relationship, so that the fire doesn't go out and the embers don't burn out. It is easy for one party to find themselves in a situation where they feel used, because their partner has become secure in their presence and is not seeking to maintain the relationship, because they are always available to them.
How To Develop Perseverance?
Ask yourself: why is something important to me?
Let's find answers, that tell us why something is important, why it is significant, why it is part of my life. Let's approach things in a way that really matters. In this way, we can build up our enthusiasm and willpower to persevere.
Once we know what is important, we need to work on how to achieve it. What we need and what we need to do. The answers to those questions will be concrete and we will know exactly what we need to do and how.
How To Develop Willpower?
Reduce tempting opportunities.
Too many options weaken our willpower, because we won't focus on what we really want, because too many distractions can distract us. If we have to get something done by a deadline, for example, it is advisable to put away and switch off anything that might distract us. A funny message or anything can take away our willpower.
Reduce the number of decisions
Once we have made a decision, we have to stick to it. We don't try to change it. It can make things easier if we plan ahead and know what we will do the next day or even the whole week. Instead of dithering, it's good to know what we're going to do in advance and allow ourselves to make decisions automatically. This will make our day more efficient and make it easier to make serious, difficult decisions.
Start the day with the hardest things
We are most energetic in the morning. We are fresh and better able to concentrate and focus. So we make the most difficult decisions in the morning.
Watch our blood sugar
Did you know that glucose has a big effect on willpower? When your blood sugar is low, it's harder to stay on top of things and harder to focus on long-term results.
Remind ourselves of our long-term goals
We should always have something in front of our eyes to remind us, that we want to achieve it. It is very easy to get caught up in achieving our long-term goals. Have a motivating image or role model close by, making sure we see it every day. It's not only a reminder, but a motivator too.
I hope this article helped a little bit to keep yourself motivated and helped your willpower and perseverance getting developed.

I call perseverance having stubbornness. Because sometimes we insist on doing things because we get excited and even if we don't get where we want to go, then stubbornness appears as perseverance.
I have two days that I can't comment well. My internet interrupts me and I get half way through. Now I have many articles accumulated without reading but I will and I know there are some of yours, I apologize.
