Ok don't tell me you don't know that a fortune is spent on that 1-2-3 hours movie that you always enjoy at the comfort of your home. There's a good reason why you have to pay that much at the cinema just to catch that movie you have been expecting so much. And apart from that, there is also reason why a strict law binds pirating the movies we watch at the cinema and that's because a whole lot of money ( talking of hundreds of millions) is spent before the movie we watch and enjoy is made enjoyable for us and piracy have proven to be the number 1 enemy to the movie industry as a whole as piracy can make hundreds of million spent on a movie turn to loss. Anybody that invests money surely wants to see the gain/profits on the money invested. Piracy can make all the gain be lost and of course still put the investor in debts.
For example, The expendables , a movie that experienced the threat of piracy during its time of production. According to Forbes Magazine, the movie that have a lot of movie stars in it including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and a whole lot of stars was said to have been leaked to the "Pirates" more than 3 weeks before it was in the cinemas. This led to 70 million illegal viewings and as a result led to $100 million lost in revenues (that's a huge amount if you ask me). That's surely a big loss to whoever is responsible for the production of the movie. Though the movie had a budget of $270 million and made $804 million at the box office. Though there's a huge gain if the figures are to be compared, there would have been more gains if the $100 million is not lost to the "pirates".
Without swaying away from the particular topic we're talking about, we have a lot of movies that have seen a lot spent on them but here we're going to be talking about the top 10 movies that have the highest budget. Budget as we mentioned is the total estimated amount spent on a movie during it's production before it's finally released to the cinema as something watchable. These budgets are usually around millions of dollars. Though we've heard about a movie with a budget of less than a hundred thousand and did well at the box office, that's not usual as most movies we watch actually have millions spent on them. So below is the countdown of the top 10 movies with the highest budget.

10) BATMAN VS SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a 2016 American superhero film based on the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman. It is a follow-up to Man of Steel (2013) and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the first live-action film to feature Batman and Superman together, as well as the first live-action cinematic portrayal of Wonder Woman. In the film, criminal mastermind Lex Luthor manipulates Batman into a preemptive battle with Superman, whom Luthor is obsessed with. The film was announced at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con after the release of Man of Steel. Snyder stated that the film would take inspiration from the Batman comic book series The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller but clarified that it would follow an original premise. The incarnation of Batman in the film is different from the character's previous portrayal in The Dark Knight Trilogy, serving as a cinematic reboot of the character.

John Carter is a 2012 American science fiction action film directed by Andrew Stanton, written by Stanton, Mark Andrews, and Michael Chabon, and based on A Princess of Mars (1912), the first book in the Barsoom series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The film was produced by Jim Morris, Colin Wilson, and Lindsey Collins. John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch in the title role, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy and Willem Dafoe. The film chronicles the first interplanetary adventure of John Carter and his attempts to mediate civil unrest amongst the warring kingdoms of Barsoom.
The film flopped at the North American box office, but set an opening-day record in Russia. It grossed $284 million at the worldwide box office, resulting in a $200 million writedown for Disney. With a total cost of $350 million, including an estimated production budget of $263 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made. Due to the film's poor box office performance, Disney cancelled plans for a sequel (titled Gods of Mars) and the trilogy Stanton had planned.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (or simply Solo) is a 2018 American space Western film centering on the Star Wars character Han Solo, also featuring his original trilogy co-protagonists Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian. Directed by Ron Howard, produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the second Star Wars anthology film, following Rogue One (2016). Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a 2007 American epic fantasy swashbuckler film directed by Gore Verbinski, the third installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and the sequel to Dead Man's Chest (2006). It follows Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Hector Barbossa, and the crew of the Black Pearl as they seek to rescue Captain Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' Locker.
