I think people tend to enjoy themselves when the are around friends reasons been that it is chore free and highly relaxing than with kids or spouse.
Most couple just relax socialize and eat and no doubt friends do the exact same thing but these tasks are more enjoyable with friends than spouse
And spending time with kids just meant more time doing thing that entail negative association such as housework and commuting.
But the lesson here is that if we put in some positive vibes in the time we spend with spouse and children then it is a priceless moment. Because the truth is that time with family means more chores.
