How exactly do you feel when you enter your home? If the answer is not – peaceful, it’s time to redesign it. After all, your home is a place where you’re supposed to relax after a hard day at work and enjoy spending time with your family. However, designing a serene home isn’t as easy as you might’ve believed. With that said, we came up with a few tips that will help you achieve the design you’re going for.

Become a plant collector

The more greenery you have in your home, the more serene you’ll feel – simple as that. Just the sight of beautiful potted plants can sooth the nerves and make you feel happy. Not only that but with more plants, the air inside of your home will remain fresh and getting the rest you need will be easier. Luckily, there are so many nice-looking potted plants you can get for your home with orchid and peace lily being the most popular among them. In case you prefer minimalist style, a single flower in a simple vase is guaranteed to do the trick.

Simplify your bedroom

While some Australians prefer their bedrooms large and luxurious, if you want to create a serene feel in your home, keeping it simple is the best solution. This means you should avoid throwing in decorations and accessories, and stick to neutral colours. In case you crave some luxury in your bedroom, getting oversized rugs and jewel-toned cushions could work as long as you keep the colours neutral. Consider soundproofing the room to ensure nothing disturbs your sleep and time for relaxation. Another idea worth considering is investing in quality speakers and playing yourself some zen music to create the perfect ambiance in your bedroom.

Go for an open plan design

Serene home design should include a lot of free space and plenty of natural light. This is exactly what you can get if you opt for an open plan design. There’s usually enough free space in open plan floors and letting in more natural light is a real piece of cake. All you need to do is design a window wall or just install a few new windows. To make sure you get everything right, hiring an architect is recommended. In case you’re looking for there a good Melbourne architect, are local experts you can turn to. Once the space has been designed, use rugs and furniture to create zones.

Create a solo spot

Relaxing usually means spending time on your own. While you can do this in your living room or in bed, it’s best that you design a spot where you can relax and read. Position it near a window so that you get enough natural light. A beautiful view from your window also means you’ll be able to just look at nature and enjoy the moment. If you prefer having some solo time in the evening, it’s a good idea to include a floor lamp next to your spot. In order to stay on top of the trends, opting for a metallic brass lamp is the way to go.

Think about colours

Colours can have a huge impact on how you feel. But this doesn’t mean your home has to be colourless in order to keep you calm. Any colour could help you relax, it’s just that you need to learn how each colour affects you. Once you do that, it’s time to apply a coat of fresh paint to your walls. There are all kind of other ways you can bring new colours into your home. For instance, you can replace your beddings and find new furniture for your living room. If you end up struggling when it comes to choosing colours, consider designing a mineral-green or all-white room.

We all now live lives of constant activity and being able to fully relax in your home is extremely important. If you’re just not feeling it at the moment, it’s time to give your home a new look. Consider the tips we talked about earlier and you should be able to achieve the serene look you’re hoping for. Just don’t forget that keeping your smartphone and PC turned off is the key to getting the rest you need, even when you live in a zen paradise.

I'd love to do it but I'm still living with my parents and I don't have the right to redesign the house the way I want. Plus I have siblings younger than me that I share the bedroom with. It's really hard when I try to redecorate the room and make it cleaner but the people I share it with doesn't share the views as me. So it's useless. I also don't like collecting plants as I don't have a greenhand. But I will consider these tips once I have my own house in the future.

Redesigning isn't that too easy. You need time to make a plan. Especially when you are not financially stable. Btw, love the ideas. Maybe in time, gonna make some makeover to my room when bitcoin cash goes into the moob
