The importance of a statement is first determined by who made the statement. When a man who was facing trial met the cleaner of the court house, the cleaner assured him that he will soon be released. That appears only a wish. The same man would be assured and confident when the judge met him before the appearance in the courtroom that his freedom will sure come. Some statements could be mere wishes while others can be assurance.
Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11vs 28-30
In the foregoing, the one who spoke is the Burden Bearer. He reassures man of the fact not to worry, that he got out back always. The one by whose stripes we are healed. He has borne our grief and carried our sorrow.
From the text we are studying (Matthew 11:28-30).
Labour is different from work. My Bible tells me that whoever does not work should not eat. It still said in the book of Proverbs that if you find a man who is diligent in his work, he will stand before kings and not unknown men. To labour means to work like an elephant and eat like a rat, the more reason those who work from sunrise to sunset are called labourers and are paid very meagre wages. Like the children of Israel while in Egypt, they were heavily taxed and made to work under tight atmosphere for a little or no wage. The burden bearer is not so. He want to rub us with benefit everyday.
Burden is a heavy load you cannot put down. Like Namaan, the Syrian army commandant, he was famous, successful and productive but he was helpless, he was a leper. Until he met with the God through the prophet, leprosy had been a huge burden on him. With just seven dips in Jordan, he was cleansed. What a word to hear on a Sunday.
There are many helpless people than we know. Drug addicts have become burdens in the family the emerge from.
Sometimes ago, a man who had goitre(an abnormal growth in the neck region) would always sit at the gates of the National Stadium, begging alms. As a RCCG programme was going n the main bowl of the stadium, a word of knowledge came and the goiter that was there a moment ago, flew like a bed. The Mam is free, free indeed.
Requirements Of The burden Bearer
• Praise Him, sing to Him because he has dealt bountifully with you.
• Tell Others What He had done. Tell your neighbours of His mercies with your mouth, make known His faithfulness to all generations.
• Be committed to Him, trust that He can do all things, let not you mins be divided.
The son of God is our burden bearer. Let's keep counting on him for a perfect connection to breakthrough.
