Many years ago, in a small village with about twenty families, live a very humble man who does anything to food on the table. Since his fisherman business had crumbled government destroyed the waterways while constructing a gas pipeline through the village on the coast. He had resolved to menial jobs like washing, weeding, planting, etc. He had a big dream to own the first lamp industry where bulbs of different colors and sizes will be manufactured. Even at this stage in his life, he still held firm to that dream.
Through his diligence, he was recommended for a job from one household to another. He does all this nib with gladness of heart not minding what he gets as pay afterward. This had lingered for almost two years. From what Jona could save, he bought a transistor radio which he takes about to keep him active at his jobs. Often, I listened to the news on the BBC network which is translated to his local dialect.
Also, from time to time he had listened to EPL matches live on his transistor radio. That radio is his best friend. That's what speaks to him when they reach home every evening.
Saturday, it was announced on the radio that a fishing company was recruiting experienced fishermen in the city. No formal education is required. Without much ado, Jona jumped at the opportunity and traveled to the city where he got tested and employed immediately. He held his transistor radio dear to his heart. At last, he would be leaving the village and retire to his first love, the fishing business.
His first trip with the Do'larosa fishing line was through the Mediterranean to Turkey. It was a huge experience. The storm and heavy waves at sea weren't new to him, he still had sea fever having left the job for over two years.
Jona had visited many European nations in the last three years and had gathered reasonable money to fund a big project like the bulb industry. He still held his transistor radio everywhere he went.
After meeting some expatriate in India, he invited over to begin the bulb industries in the heart of his village where jobless youths were gainfully employed. When the company products entered the market, the acceptance was massive.
The management board decided to give back to society. So, boreholes for drinkable water were sunk and widows were given stipends twice every year to keep body and soul together. His dream has been fulfilled.
