Buyers and sellers are relying on the Cash on Delivery (COD) system of Evali, one of the top e-commerce based marketplaces in the country. In the current situation, the activities of Evali are becoming normal again as COD has given the opportunity to buy and sell products.
Evali started selling COD Method products through the 'Friends Deal' campaign from Saturday. About one and a half thousand vendors have been added to this new system so far. Vendors are taking part in Friends Deal with various categories of products including various food restaurants, fashion items, electronic gadgets, smart phones and lifestyle products. The company expects the number of vendors to increase to 5,000 within the next one week.
Mohammad Russell, managing director and chief executive officer of Evali, said there was a good response from sellers as well as buyers. "Since our bank accounts and payment gateways are temporarily closed, we have started selling products on a cash-on-delivery basis for the convenience of customers and sellers," Russell said. So far, there are a total of 1,503 live shops. Of these, 60 are regular shops, 620 are express shops and 230 are food shops. There are also 125 shops at Friends Deal. The biggest feature of Cash On Delivery is that sellers receive their payments directly. On the other hand, the customers have understood the product and paid the price. As a result of us complaining about that big place, customers are late to get the product; Those problems were solved.
"Since government agencies and business trade bodies are investigating, we will continue to provide them with full support," Russell said. We believe we have not done anything immoral and illegal and that is what will come out through the investigation. Apart from this, we are also working tirelessly to resolve the issues that have arisen with our delivery, refund or seller payment. At the same time we want to assure the customers that we are continuing our efforts to deliver the products of the previous order which are yet to be delivered on time. Since this issue involves the issue of payment of sellers, we will appeal to the government to open the bank accounts that we have at least as soon as possible.
An organization called Products Hub has been selling various types of gadgets items on the Evali platform. AHM Raihan, managing director of the company, said, "We have a physical shop in Bashundhara City of the capital - Gadgets Route BD." Its partner is e-commerce company Products Hub. We have been doing business with Evali since December last year. About half of our sales are from Evali when we compare our own sales to products sold through Evali. It’s just that Evely is going through a tough time. But to make such a decision in such a short time in a changed situation is really a great step. This benefits both the buyer and the seller. As a seller, we have confidence in Evali and its founder, Mohammed Russell. If Evely is more careful about the buyer's product and the seller's payment, Evely will one day be truly the Amazon of Bangladesh.
