In one of the weirdest scenes in local basketball history, a man wearing a superhero costume took the spotlight — but not in a good way.
A man dressed as Spiderman entered the hardcourt Friday without permission and collided with San Miguel Beermen's June Mar Fajardo at the 6:03 mark of the final quarter in Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Security personnel immediately apprehended the man and brought him away from the court.
San Miguel player Ronald Tubid was seen stepping out of the court to throw a punch at 'Spiderman'.
Asked why he did it, the unidentified man said he just wanted to advocate love to all.
The Beermen fell short in the contest after Magnolia's Mark Barroca sank the buzzer beater to lift the Hotshots to the victory and series edge.
