Dailie wildlife photography: the common magpie, Pica pica. They are common in southern Portugal, but strangely these were the only decent photos I could take, and from a good distance! Magpies are incredible intelligent, and almost impossible to confuse with any other bird, given their long tails and the colour patterns. Photos taken in Santa Luzia, Portugal.

Pretty bird! Looks like a bird we have around here, but they have bigger beak and body :)
Magpies have a strong personnality... They love to chase the jay as soon as he arrives in my garden!
