Daily wildlife photography: the little cormorant, Microcarbo niger. This small cormorant can be found in Asia. Like all cormorants, their feathers aren't waterproof in order to facilitate swimming, so they adopt this funny posture in order to help with the feather drying. We have them here too. It's cool to see them pose in the sun. It's almost like they are meditating!
These ones are a smaller than our european ones, but fortunately the behaviour is the same; great chance for cool photos! ;)
their head surprises me, I don't know why 😁
That slightly flatted head is actually one of the characteristics of that species.
