Retrieve Missing ACS Tokens (CoinGecko Airdrop)

Some time ago, after discussing the Access Protocol airdrop by Coingecko with some friends, I realized I was missing a large amount of the ACS airdropped tokens, and probably more participants might not know they have more tokens or how to retrieve them.

These airdropped ACS tokens will soon be unlocked, so in case you participated and received the successful Access Protocol airdrop, know there are still tokens locked in the Access Protocol Hub that will become available in February (15th).

With this guide, I will explain how to access the remaining ACS tokens for the participants who may not know about it.

How To Find Missing ACS Tokens

Coingecko did not just airdrop ACS tokens to your Solana address but also locked more tokens in the same address at the Access Protocol Hub.

Those who never accessed the Hub with the secret phrase to the declared Solana address probably don’t know about it.

The first airdrop by Coingecko was the locked tokens, with more airdrops and daily rewards in ACS followed.

Therefore, there could be more ACS tokens locked and waiting, and here’s how to get them:

Steps To Find Missing ACS Tokens

  • Step 1: Download Phantom Mobile Wallet

  • Step 2: Import the seed phrase from the address you used for the airdrop

  • Step 3: Select the in-wallet browser icon

  • Step 4: Search for Access Protocol Hub

  • Step 5: Connect with Phantom

Upon entering the Access Hub, we get notified to connect our mobile wallet. We only have to sign the transaction and have a small amount of SOL for fees.

And… Voilà!

We have now gained access to the missing airdrop, the locked ACS tokens there, on the CoinGecko creator’s page.

We can unlock these tokens in February, use them again on any creator, or leave them to support Coingecko. We can also sell them on exchanges (like Coinbase) that list the ACS token.

Furthermore, we have even more content rewards of ACS tokens to claim from staking, which we can immediately use to support creators.

This was the locked amount we received from Coingecko, and out of this staked ACS, we received the airdrop in our wallets.

After discovering it and having enough free time, I withdrew all the tokens and several NFTs I received from creators I support and moved them all to the address I used for the airdrop.

Currently, I have more than 32k ACS tokens in total, locked with almost 20 creators.

Having more than one account would be complicated, so I unstacked all of ACS from the previous account and transferred everything to my Phantom wallet.

I have also received more than 50 NFTs from various collections and artists I supported on Access Protocol!

I’ve checked the value of some of these NFTs and it appears that most of them follow the negative trend of NFTs, having an insignificant price to put up for sale.

I would suggest trying to support NFT creators as they deliver these extra rewards that maybe one day would be worth a decent amount.

Meanwhile, it is important to mention that Solana has some serious infrastructure on NFTs with Magic Eden and SolSea, outcompeting the rest blockchains in terms of quality and efficiency.

Especially Magic Eden is a high-quality marketplace that probably every new NFT marketplace should try to emulate.

Magic Eden is what every NFT marketplace should have in mind in terms of quality, user-friendliness, and speed.

Perhaps holding on to Solana NFTs while interest has hit rock bottom and waiting for a better time to list them for sale will be a profitable strategy.

In Conclusion

Solana fees are low, so probably we should leave $1 in our wallet to be able to perform transactions.

About the ACS airdrop when counting the amount in terms of USD, it would still be profitable if we sold these tokens early.

However, while staking ACS to various creators we also receive NFTs and more ACS tokens as a reward, and who knows, perhaps the interest in NFTs will increase again with the possibility of a new crypto bull market.

With this guide, I hope I helped some participants of the ACS airdrop who probably didn’t know how to access their locked ACS tokens or didn’t even know these tokens existed.
