HackSmart Flipstarter - The First SmartBCH Hackathon!
A flipstarter from CoinRiot is ongoing with ten days left to fill a 200BCH target.
With this flipstarter, CoinRiot is planning to organize a Hackathon (HackSmart) event in Q1 2022 aiming to introduce smartBCH to developers interested in blockchain and smart contracts.
SmartBCH is a young and popular sidechain powered by Bitcoin Cash, offering Ethereum compatibility, high throughput, and a cost-efficient approach to smart contracts (Dapps, DeFi, NFTs, etc.) for developers and users of the platform.
A Hackathon is an event that can further innovation and produce positive results for any project in the crypto field.
It brings publicity and creates a “productive hype” since it attracts developers and various other experts (graphic and UI designers, field specialists, etc.).
We take this opportunity to examine how the CoinRiot HackSmart hackathon can generate positive sentiment for smartBCH and further enhance the image of the Bitcoin Cash sidechain in the crypto industry and beyond.
The Flipstarter Campaign For the First SmartBCH Hackathon
SmartBCH is becoming an established smart contract network as it already attracts developers from other blockchain networks and found support from a strong fanbase.
Events such as a hackathon (or participation in conventions) are a common approach for crypto-related projects since these events bring together individuals with a similar mindset and set of skills that spark innovation and creativity.

The host of the event will be no other than John Moriarty, who is also hosting the Bitcoin Cash Network Discussions at YouTube, and was also the presenter of last year's hackathon CoinParty.
It is a collective approach that may also bring to light some interesting ideas and proceed with collaborations and developments.
The HackSmart Event

In general, HackSmart will aim to attract about 20 different teams of developers totaling 100 attendees and $25,000 to be shared as prizes.
The event will last for two weeks, with the first week acting as a pre-hack educational phase and the second for the main event.
There will be games, prizes (up to $25,000), side-contests, interviews with participants and judges, hours of video and images of marketing material, and live stream material hosted on CoinRiot's YouTube channel.
The HackSmart flipstarter has been running for a while and will expire in 10 days. Current top contributors are Roger Ver, toorik, molecular, and btcfork.
The minimum pledge is 0.18BCH (~$52), to anyone interested to pledge BCH, a guide to set up Electron Cash and the flipstarter plugin is located at the flipstarter official website (link).
SmartBCH Deserves a Hackathon
All major networks are performing similar events. A Hackathon will display the features of smartBCH, adding to publicity.
It is a step forward towards attracting developers and bringing fresh developments into the ecosystem. SmartBCH is a platform offering ground for Solidity and Python experienced developers (Eth and other EVM compatible networks) to materialize their work in a cost-efficient network.
Developers discuss and compete to find solutions, exchange ideas, and reach new partnerships, generating pioneering developments in each of their fields.
These events will often attract the attention of the community and enhance the image of the projects taking part. Hackathons create positive results for the long-term viability and prosperity of crypto-projects.
