Flipstarter New Features And Active Campaigns (Knuth, Bitcoin Verde, Ryan Giffin, SalemKode)
Flipstarter upgraded and brought two significant changes with its latest version.
The donations structure changed and now allows pledging low amounts of BCH, in dollar terms even lower than $1. With this approach, every Bitcoin Cash user can donate to projects in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem.
Moreover, the new implementation allows donating Bitcoin Cash via QR code. With this procedure, any Bitcoin Cash holder can contribute using more wallet options besides Electron Cash.
With flipstarter, 97 projects so far have achieved their funding targets and proceeded with supporting Bitcoin Cash in multiple ways. Flipstarter has supported projects:
operating infrastructure services
conducting marketing
spreading adoption
developing software on top of Bitcoin Cash
We summarize with this article the running flipstarters, their targets, and how we can all donate amounts of Bitcoin Cash worth even less than one dollar.
Flipstarter - Electron Cash Plugin And QR Code New Option
Until recently, pledging in Flipstarters required downloading Electron Cash and the Flipstarter plugin. Bitcoin Cash owners can find instructions on the official flipstarter website. Following these instructions will take a few minutes to download an Electron Cash wallet and the required plugin to participate in flipstarters. (link).
Electron Cash wallet demands one block confirmation upon depositing funds, so when we deposit we have to wait for 10 minutes for the BCH to be available to spend.
The latest Flipstarter update gives the option to hosts of flipstarters to donate Bitcoin Cash by scanning a QR code, enabling wallets with this option available to contribute to flipstarters as well.
Bitcoin Verde Maintenance Campaign 2022
Link to the flipstarter: Bitcoin Verde
Bitcoin Verde is a full node implementation of Bitcoin Cash protocol which aims to support the BCH network by providing network operators a diverse client offering.
Bitcoin Verde is an infrastructure project supporting Bitcoin Cash with multiple solutions and developments.
Bitcoin Verde launched its 2022 flipstarter recently, aiming to attract 215BCH in voluntary contributions. We can pledge as low as 0.003BCH which is the minimum amount or use the up/down arrows to adjust the numbers.
Procedure to pledge with QR code:
We press pledge, fill in the details (name & comment - not mandatory), and either proceed with Electron Cash or scan the QR Code.
Flipstarter will auto-refund our BCH in case a campaign doesn't reach its targets in the predetermined time. However, we can also cancel our pledge at any time using the private key of the pledge address the flipstarter page provides.
I scanned the code, saved the private key, and finished the pledge for this campaign.
The names of all contributors are visible on the flipstarter page, together with all anonymous pledges.
We also find the option to sort contributors by value, or time, providing this extra information that could interest the teams.
KNUTH NODE AS A PYTHON LIBRARY
Link to the flipstarter: Knuth
Knuth announced its 2022 flipstarter yesterday and has a target of 120BCH with 47.88BCH already filled.
The minimum pledge in Knuth's campaign is currently 0.123BCH.
Those of us wanting to support KTH but have fewer funds available for contributions can wait a few days and revisit the flipstarter page, as the minimum pledge will be lower as more pledges are made.
West Palm BCH - Bringing Bitcoin Cash to South Florida - By Ryan Giffin
Link to the flipstarter: West Palm BCH
Ryan Giffin recently disembarked in Florida after his Caribbean BCH-related adventure, aiming to push Bitcoin Cash merchant adoption in the US and already delivering remarkable results.
The flipstarter target is 91.77BCH, with more than 50% of this amount covered in the first hours of the announcement!
The minimum pledge is 0.068BCH for the time being, but as the target reaches closer to getting filled, the minimum amount will be lower.
I plan to contribute as well in the following days.
Continuing to develop inside Flip Starter by SalemKode
Link to the flipstarter: SalemKode
The slider on this campaign is different from the one in Bitcoin Verde flipstarter because it was launched with the previous flipstarter implementation, and doesn't contain QR code tipping.
This flipstarter requires Electron Cash together with the flipstarter plugin.
We can fund our Electron Cash wallet with $2 worth of BCH and use the same process as in the past, copying the details and transferring to the plugin to get the pledge details.
We can contribute to SalemKode's campaign for as low as 0.005BCH ($1.80).
In Conclusion
(Pixabay)
Bitcoin Cash has thousands of active users that want to contribute to flipstarters. Although, depending on our holdings the minimum contribution amount is usually too high for many that are in the phase of accumulating a small Bitcoin Cash position in their wallets.
With the reduction of minimum limits, everyone can contribute small amounts to any flipstarter according to their means.
Concerning the old systems containing a gradual decline of the minimum pledge amount, users that can't afford a pledge, can revisit the page a few days later and contribute an affordable amount.
With the new Flipstarter model (Bitcoin Verde), everyone can contribute small amounts of BCH, worth just a few dollars or even less, immediately upon visiting the page.
QR code tipping will also enable campaigns to reach out to the part of the BCH userbase that is willing to submit smaller pledges and contribute to the progress of the Bitcoin Cash and smartBCH ecosystem.
