Poverty & the society we live in

We live in a society were the rich gets richer and the poor gets absolutely less than what he deserves.

In this article, we will be shining the light on poverty around the world and how to possibly change it to the better.

1 - Poverty in the world

Poverty has hit millions of people around the world, from different countries to different continents, and more than half of the population live in deprivation. The lack of income and the state of being jobless has contributed to this massive problem, and having a below average minimum wage while even working in some countries is not a solution either, and debt can be accumulated.

2 - The problems leading us to deprivation

Poverty is caused by multiple contributing factors worldwide, from political conflicts, to wars & terrorism and we should find a solution to solve them. Some of the factors leading us to this chaos includes:

• Political conflicts - Political conflicts has radically increased throughout the years, and wars have been more likely to happen. Violence is occurring around us which contributes to higher rates of poverty. People around the world are losing their homes and their loved ones over a conflict between political parties and massive increase of starvation is happening.

• Terrorism - Over the years, terrorist attacks have been the reason for poverty to many, from different international parties to crimes happening inside the countries, and while some terrorist groups define themselves as a "religious" party yet act differently from what their religion commands them to, it leads to corruption, loss of wealth and eventually death. People all over the world can experience crimes, and that is a problem that should be taken into consideration to limit the number of crimes happening around us.

• Civil wars - While political parties and terrorism are the main problems in our society, civil wars are no exception. Conflicts between a state & an organized non-state in the state's territory can lead to loss of wealth, poverty, injuries and maybe death. Civil wars are among the contributing factors to deprivation in the country, which innocent people are affected by.

• The lack of education - Education, be it small or advanced, have an important role in our life, and the lack of education is one of the causes to poverty. Learning different skills and contributing in one's self can help reduce poverty by giving more opportunities for job-seeking in different types of fields, while advanced education can get you a job in your country or a more developed country where poverty can end.

• The lack of jobs - Sometimes, it's hard to immediately find a job, and traveling might not be a solution, and while the need for food, bills and medical supplements can not be accomplished by being jobless, poverty can hit.

• Hunger - Hunger is one of the reasons that can be stopped by helping the poor with campaigns and aid delivered worldwide by setting a goal amount of money and giving out to the needy. Hunger is a problem for poverty, if a person is not eating enough or having little to no food, he can't have enough energy to work, which will lead to poverty.

• Poor healthcare systems - Poor healthcare can heavily contribute to poverty, by not having enough resources and medicines to cure diseases such as Covid, Malaria and respiratory infections. People's illness can be a problem which adds poverty to the list, as a job can't be obtained and the income will be limited.

• Covid - Poverty increased drastically over the years, especially with Covid being around. Jobs became limited, the income was not sufficient and lock-downs had to be done, which makes most of the people poor, and many unable to provide food for a living.

3 - The Solutions

Poverty is a massive problem, and providing solutions is the way to limit it. And by far, one of the most useful solutions to help reduce this issue are the following:

• Education - One of the best solutions available is education, be it learning new skills or having a certificate, a job can be obtained in the resident country or aboard. Free of charge education should also be implemented in every country, allowing children and young adults to learn and obtain a certificate. This limits the poverty around us and provides income to the person to live a better life.

• Healthcare access - Limiting poverty can be obtained by having an advanced healthcare system with a free of charge access to the poor, so children can grow up healthier and stronger, and are able to work and provide for themselves and their families.

• Helping the needy - People around the world can help stop this issue by donating to charities or online campaigns, which limits the problem. Donations can be done with money or food, or by simply providing what is essential for living, like food for the homeless on the street, water and medicine, in one's own country.

• Building a compound using container houses - Campaigns run to provide shelter to the homeless and the needy using container houses, with monthly income sufficient for food and water can change people's lives.
