Ultra Rare Splinterlands Battles: Poisonous Earthquake

0 84

I heard legends about this battle-rules combo but I though is just folklore! After 18 months of playing Splinterland... I witnessed the amazing poisonous earthquake!

Welcome to the Cataclysm! This battle will do some damage, as the landscape is fighting back. Is not a race of who delivers more blows, is survival of the fittest.

Battle mana cap set at 44, giving flexibility for more advance mechanics.

Earthquake: Non-Flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round

Noxious Fumes: All monsters start the battle poisoned

Line-up: Obsidian: +1 Spell Power

Mycelic Slipspawn: Main Tank with Taunt

Nectar Queen: Off-Tank with Flying

Goblin Psychic: Caster with Heal

Centauri Mage: Caster with Return Fire

Gelatinous Cube: Support with Scavenger

Hill Giant: Melee with high HP

I had to battle another Obsidian, with an army lead by Queen Mycelia. Under the queen's banner it was the Mycelic Slipspawn, the Mycelic Infantry, Mushroom Seer, Sand Worm and Wood Nymph as a healer.

I lost the Mycelic Slipspawn after the first round, but then the Earthquake and Fumes hit everyone. Was game over for the Nymph and many others barely survived to fight another round.

Round Three was total carnage, and all I had left was the Centauri Mage and the Cube! However, the Earthquake and the poison hit again ... boosting the slimy Gelatinous creature to 9 HP and nuking the Seer and Queen Mycelia!

The poison cloud hit hard the Slipspawn and the Sandworm, so my Cube gained two more health points! Game over as the Infantry was afflicted by centaury deadly magic! See the whole battle here!

Cataclysm 2.0! And.... it happened again after few days! This time Noxious Fumes and Earthquake came with only 17 mana to make a decent team.

Line up: Obsidian: +1 Spell Power

Vampire Bat: Main Tank with Flying

Regal Peryton: Caster with Flying

Khimer Princess: Caster

Uraeus: Melee with Sneak

The tactic was to deliver enough blows with the non-flying monster before the end of the first round, and then let the Quake and Poison to the kill. My opponent had no flying monsters, and chose the Chemist for the Cleanse ability.

The Vampire Bat dodged two attacks, while the Chemist and the Princess were nuked by the nature's wrath!

Another round of Poisonous Earthquake cleared the table. The Peryton extreme speed made the difference, as he landed the winning blow. See the full battle here!
