The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.

Let's enjoy the Equal Opportunities ruleset, where all the monsters will start with the game with ... Opportunity! The ability will allow monsters to attack the unit with the lowest health on the enemy team.

Time for the critters to crawlers to be taken down! May the gods of random be ever in my favor!

I realized there's no equal opportunities for battle mage secrets, playing 125 games since Thursday for this challenge! Not even once... not even once! This is why I had to adapt and play monsters with Opportunity!

Sneaky Fire can be an Opportunity or Death?

The search for the Equal Opportunity battlerule was a fiasco, with no show-up in 125 tries. I decided to take advantage of the battle with Rise of the Commons, with only common and rare monsters available, to push a sneak/opportunity melee team.

I started the selection with Tarsa, the summoner that buffs the friendly monsters with one melee attack and one health. This summoner was born with fire in her blood, burning rage and quick temper are amplified by her powers!

Tarsa used her abilities to bully and threaten those that got in her way, and the rise of the Chaos Legion was ... an opportunity! She had the chance to unleash her fire power without interference from anyone else. So long as the Chaos Legion opens the path for her, she can burn everything with her wildfire!

Tarsa: +1 Melee and +1 Health

Goblin Mech: Melee Tank with Piercing

Parasitic Growth: Melee with Opportunity

Serpentine Spy: Melee with Opportunity

Tenyii Striker: Melee with Sneak

Sand Worm: Melee with Sneak

Djinn Apprentice: Caster

The opponent went for an Obsidian boosted magical team, with various boosts and debuffs! The Unicorn Mustang was supported with healing from the Goblin Psychic, enhancing the Void Shield!

The Princess was ... the opportunity... and was nuked quickly! The prismatic energy was next to fall, being sneakily hit by the fire raging monsters!

Everything looked well and going in my favor, until the Goblin Mech was taken down by several magical spells. It went downhill from here, as the Parasitic Growth and the Serpentine Spy followed the goblin into the grave!

I managed to take down the healer, but with a costly price ... the Tenyii Striker! The end was near... with my army being unable to handle the powerful Unicorn Mustang.

All done in 4 rounds, and makes me wonder what went wrong? First issue was the magic, as the armor of the Goblin Mech was pointless. The Djinn Apprentice was also pointless, because his reduced magic damage didn't affect the Unicorn Mustang. I was teached a tactical lesson, and showed that brute force can't win a duel! See the full battle here!
