The Splinterlands Rebellion - The World Can't Be Healed... The World Must Be Purged

0 144

The aftermath of the demonic invasion are clear in Praetoria, as the once fertile lands are now oozing with corruption. The rebellion is coming, as the survivors are gathering their forces! What doesn't kill you ... makes you stronger...

There will be collateral damage, like fire and regret! The survivors will fight for freedom, but for some this freedom will means meeting the Grim Reaper! Death awaits after every corner, as new conflicts are taking over the Splinterlands. This world can't be healed... but can be purged!

The Rebellion set is scheduled to be released on the 5th of December, and the pre-sale is currently live! Each pack contain five randomly cards from the Rebellion set, with at least one guaranteed rare card. The Legendary and Alchemy potions can be used to increase the chances of receiving Legendary or Gold Foil cards at the same rates as previous sets as well. Nothing changed here, as the unwrapping didn't need any upgrades!

Are you ready for Pre-Sale Alpha? Those purchasing Rebellion packs during the presale will also be eligible to receive not one, but two new limited edition promo cards! Buy 10 packs during pre-sale and receive one Grimbardun Smith Neutral Rare card! On top of that, every single Rebellion booster pack purchased during the presale will have a 1% chance of receiving a Mantaroth Neutral Legendary card!

The Rebellion set contains 96 new cards, including two limited-edition promo cards available only during the Rebellion presale. Other nine Legendary airdrop cards which will be distributed via a completely re-imagined system, as the promo cards and legendary airdrops will not available in packs!

There are two weeks left, and you may never get a better price! What's my plan? To buy at least 10 packs and secure one Grimbardun Smith Neutral Rare card! Hopefully a 10% chance will be enough to also receive the Mantaroth Neutral Legendary card!

The price per pack is set at 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC, but the players can spend VOUCHER tokens in order to receive a discount on the base price. Each VOUCHER token used will reduce the price by 200 Credits / DEC and the maximum discount available using VOUCHER tokens will be 20%.

This means I need 50,000 credits or 50,000 DEC for those ten packs. The cheapest alternative is to have 50 Vouchers and reduce the whole amount to only 40,000 DEC. Not sure how achievable is my goal, as I have only 462 DEC and 11 Vouchers!

I hope to get some packs, or I will have to rely again on the secondary market! The fifth core edition will introduce multiple entirely new elements to the gameplay, such as new abilities and multi-element summoners.

Some of the Summoners in the Rebellion set will be dual-element, allowing them to summon cards from two elements on the same team. Rebellion Summoners will also feature a new mechanic called Summoner Tactics, where players can choose between two sets of buffs or debuffs after both players reveal their teams. Forget all the current successful tactics, as new ones will emerge!

The Rebellion set will introduce four new unit abilities: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout. he new abilities will enhance certain elements, making the team's synergy more... deadly!

  • Armored Strike - The units with this ability will gain an ADDITIONAL Melee attack using the Armor stats

  • Corrosive Ward - For me this is Acid Thornes and the nemesis to Repair! You can't Repair something that's been melted into acidic goo! When the unit with this ability is hit by melee attack, will do 2 damage to the attacker's Armor AND will also reduce the max Armor of the attacker by 2.

  • Flank - If the unit with this ability is in the first position, then the unit in the second position gains the Reach ability. Imagine the synergy created by this new ability, making the first two units work together to bring down the enemy tank

  • Lookout - Say Hello! to scouts that shield your support units! The card with this ability will help adjacent allies to take one less damage from Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity attacks.

The new abilities are cool ... but the new summoner mechanics are mind-blowing. Five rare Summoners and one legendary Dragon Summoner will be introduced, and the dual-element concept will enhance the gameplay. The special type of summoners will be able to summon cards from two of the five basic Splinterlands elements together on the same team. Mind-Blowing!

This world can't be healed... but can be purged! The Chaos Legion corruption must be burned, and the healers must learn to purge the infection. Obsidian choose the wrong path, and Franz is not the type of leader that believes in redemption. The betrayers must be punished and the evil must be eliminated!

The Healed Out battle rule removed all healing abilities from both monsters and summoners, leading to quick fight! Franz Ruffmane armor buff was pointless against magic, but compensated with the use of a Gladiator card.

Franz Ruffmane: +1 Armor and +1 Gladiator Card

Shieldbearer: Tank with Taunt

Vulguine: Melee with Scavenger

Armorsmith: Support with Repair

Captain Katie: Caster with Snipe and Bloodlust

Creeping Ooze: Support with Slow

My army was hiding behind the Shieldbearer, with Vulguine ready to tank once the main man will fall. Fighting against a team of casters was hard enough, and Obsidian's boost made it even worst.

Captain Katie had to step up to the expectations, and become the hero the rebellion needed. She had to shoot twice to take down the Regal Peryton, but at least she didn't miss those attacks. The Shieldbearer couldn't handle the succession of spells and served as collateral damage, while his army took down a Failed Summoner.

New tanks for both teams, with Vulguine facing the Unicorn Mustang. Every war has it's heroes, and the bards will sung songs that will fuel the rebellion. This war was Katie's chance to shine, as she sniped down the Venari Spellsmith. Captain Katie boosted her stats with another bloodlust, while the feral Vulguine was biting hard!

Heroes are not born... heroes are made! The Armorsmith turned into a savior, as his repair kept Vulguine alive until the end of the battle. Katie took care of the remaining caster, and the fight simplified once the Khmer Princess found her demise.

Katie was on steroids, but she couldn't land the fatal blow. The Unicorn Mustang void armor helped the mighty beast to survive the spell, but Vulguine was on the prowl! One more bite and the unicorn was defeated. The blood-thirsty creature made the difference, as the armor repair and Scavenger kept rabid V alive! See the full battle here!
