The Splinterlands Rebellion - New Abilities, New Summoners .... New Tactics
The Rebellion set is scheduled to be released on the 5th of December, and this upgrade will change the Splinterlands as never seen before! The fifth core edition will introduce multiple entirely new elements to the gameplay, such as new abilities and multi-element summoners.
TOGETHER... WE RISE! TOGETHER ... WE WIN! Even if the cries of anguish have been replaced with the silence of oppression... there are whispers of rebellion. The oppressions can't be tolerated anymore ... and the rebellion is coming!
The battle mages who purchase Rebellion packs during the presale will receive two limited edition promo cards, and the airdrop system will be revamped with the introduction of "Conflicts". The players will be able to stake unopened Rebellion packs and cards to earn airdrop rewards.
Some of the Summoners in the Rebellion set will be dual-element, allowing them to summon cards from two elements on the same team. Rebellion Summoners will also feature a new mechanic called Summoner Tactics, where players can choose between two sets of buffs or debuffs after both players reveal their teams. Forget all the current successful tactics, as new ones will emerge!
The Rebellion set will introduce four new unit abilities: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout. he new abilities will enhance certain elements, making the team's synergy more... deadly!
Armored Strike - The units with this ability will gain an ADDITIONAL Melee attack using the Armor stats
Corrosive Ward - For me this is Acid Thornes and the nemesis to Repair! You can't Repair something that's been melted into acidic goo! When the unit with this ability is hit by melee attack, will do 2 damage to the attacker's Armor AND will also reduce the max Armor of the attacker by 2.
Flank - If the unit with this ability is in the first position, then the unit in the second position gains the Reach ability. Imagine the synergy created by this new ability, making the first two units work together to bring down the enemy tank
Lookout - Say Hello! to scouts that shield your support units! The card with this ability will help adjacent allies to take one less damage from Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity attacks.
The Rebellion set contains 96 new cards, including two limited-edition promo cards available only during the Rebellion presale. Other nine Legendary airdrop cards which will be distributed via a completely re-imagined system, as the promo cards and legendary airdrops will not available in packs!
All hail Mantaroth and Grimbardun Smith! One is a fat dwarf that reminds me of Gimli, while the other is a bad-ass Chaos Legion champion! Who will win a battle between this two? Mantaroth for sure, as Grimbardun has no attack!
Each Rebellion pack will contain five randomly cards from the Rebellion set, with at least one guaranteed rare card. The Legendary and Alchemy potions can be used to increase the chances of receiving Legendary or Gold Foil cards at the same rates as previous sets as well. Nothing changed here, as the unwrapping didn't need any upgrades!
The price per pack is set at 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC, but the players can spend VOUCHER tokens in order to receive a discount on the base price. Each VOUCHER token used will reduce the price by 200 Credits / DEC and the maximum discount available using VOUCHER tokens will be 20%.
Here comes the Super Pre-Sale Alpha! The players who purchase Rebellion packs during the presale will also be eligible to receive not one, but two new limited edition promo cards! Buy 10 packs during pre-sale and receive one Grimbardun Smith Neutral Rare card! On top of that, every single Rebellion booster pack purchased during the presale will have a 1% chance of receiving a Mantaroth Neutral Legendary card!
Based on the above condition, I plan to work hard and buy at least 10 packs during the presale. This effort will guarantee one Grimbardun Smith Neutral Rare card and 5% chances of receiving Mantaroth!
The new abilities are cool ... but the new summoner mechanics are mind-blowing. Five rare Summoners and one legendary Dragon Summoner will be introduced, and the dual-element concept will enhance the gameplay. The special type of summoners will be able to summon cards from two of the five basic Splinterlands elements together on the same team. Mind-Blowing!
The Rebellion started like a single drop, and expanded into a tidal wave of hope! The heroes of the rebellion are keeping the freedom spark alive, and Orella Abadon is one of the best freedom-fighters. We know from the lore that she is the oldest Gladiator and that she is an Efreet, but not many know that Orella is one of the leaders of the resistance against the Chaos Legion.
The Rebellion needs young and old, and we all know that experience can change the tides of the battle. Orella is a a stealth assassin, starting the Sneak ability and earning True Strike when upgraded. Two mana for a card with two health, two damage and Bloodlust is something that will top the battlefield in duels with a small mana pool. TIME TO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!
The time for Orella has come when a 12 mana battle brought the "Are You Not Entertained?" rule in the mix! Using an extra gladiator in such a low mana duel is an unique opportunity, and a good way to spark a rebellion.
Tarsa: +1 Health & +1 Melee
Antoid Platoon: Tank with Shield
Ant Miners: Melee with Scavenger
Orella Abadon: Melee with Sneak and Bloodlust
Scorch Fiend: Zero Mana Legendary Decoy
My opponent choose the Water Splinter, with the hardcore Sea Serpent as the star. The team was prepared to face a team of casters, with magic reduction and a self-sustainable scaly tank. The Hardy Stonefish and the Chicken were the decoys, keeping the Sea Serpent safe from early damage. However, this tactic was going to backfire, as the Ant Miners will soon feast on surf & turf!
Orella is hungry, Orella is deadly! First strike... first kill! Winner winner... chicken dinner! She boosted all the stats trough Bloodlust and the And Miners scavenged one extra health point. Round one gave me a moral boost, and we all know that rebellions need this type of stories. Call the bard at tell him to sing the story of Orella Abadon!
She had something to prove and started the second round with a spear attack that halved the Sea Serpent total health. The Antoid Platoon is small but mighty, as the Hardy Stonefish was added to the menu. The Sea Serpent healed and had a massive bite, only to have the sharp fangs being stopped into the ants armor.
Was time to retaliate, as Orella spear pierced trough skin and scales! Strike three and your out! It took only three rounds to settle the fight, as the tiny Antoid Platoon was David in this story. The fist-size insects took on the Goliath Sea Serpent and won!
Orella ...Orella... Orella! The news of this glorious victory spread like wildfire, and more rebellions started across the Splinterlands. Villages and towns are now gearing up against the Chaos Legion, and there are rumors that the mighty Grimbardun Smith will soon join the fight! See the full battle here!
