The Splinterlands Battle Challenge goes Dynamite... Dragons, Djinns, Daenerys, Dracharys, Death

3 76

The Chaos Legion invaded the Splinterlands and old game mechanics, strategies and set teams are now being scrapped to make place to the new wave of monsters. Even if the change was massive, the Dragon Splinter remained unaffected by the addon.

It's time for another Dragons Weekly Battle Challenge, and was easy to decide on which to play, as I have only one summoner and four dragon monsters. The Drake of Arnak will be the only choice for summoner, while the Serpentine Mystic, Gloridax Soldier, Naga Assassin and Twilight Basilik will be covering my team choices.

Battle 1 : The Dragons from the Caverns of Time!

This battle came before the evil agents of chaos invaded the world and a mana cap set at 17 was enough to chose a competitive team.

Drake of Arnak: Summoner with +1 Armor

Gloridax Soldier: Main tank with Flying and Shield

Twilight Basilisk: Off-Tank with Reach

Serpentine Mystic: Caster with Affliction

Creeping Ooze: -1 Speed for all enemy monsters

Furious Chicken - KFC spicy wings

*think this was the Chicken's last battle under my banner as the owner called him back. If you have a spare one please help poor PVM who is now chicken-less!

The enemy made a strange move and selected a+1 Spell Power Summoner but no casters. My furious chicken was quickly added in the deep fry. It was a constant battle of grinding health from my enemies and turning the tide in my favor.

The grinding continued and the odds smiled in my favor even if I lost the Ooze after some precise shots by the sniper pirate. Debts were paid as my Serpentine Mystic went full strength to create superiority and added the enemy Spineback Turtle into the Chef's soup. I shouted Dracharys and the Crustacean King was eaten by dragons ... game over! See the full battle here!

Battle 2: A genie in a bottle!

New shiny cards were integrated in this 18 mana cap battle with no special rules. The enemy went for a team with 4 Chaos Legion cards, hoping to win the battle with a mix of armor and extra health.

Drake of Arnak: Summoner with +1 Armor

Gloridax Soldier: Main tank with Flying and Shield

Djin Oshannus: Caster with Void

Creeping Ooze: -1 Speed for all enemy monsters

Djinn Oshannu and the Gloridax Soldier are wild cards, as both will disrupt the tactic used by my opponent. The Gloridax Soldier must hold the ground, and with Flying and Shield this will be easy.

Three rounds into the battle and only one monster down. The Gloridax dragon holds well, dodging and blocking attacks. Time to ignore the armor and do some magical damage.

I started with a team of three and all are doing well, while the opponent lost half of his team. No armor now and the two ranged monsters are now more vulnerable then ever.

All has become a home-run, as the Djinn is ready to grant me three wishes. Oshannu was untouchable by the caster due to the Void shield, and slowly leaded me towards victory. The Gloridax Soldier was the strategic star of the battle, with many dodged and blocked attacks. See the full battle here!
