The Splinterlands Are Burning Bright - Hot Summer ... Hot Katie!
Splinterlands was my gateway into HIVE, pushed by the desire to see the play2earn game that everyone was highly speaking. In few minutes I created my account and bought the Spell Book, and started my journey into the unknown! The game is available for both desktop and mobile phones, which made it easy to play!
The game dynamics where complex but rewarding, as I was able to earn tokens and NFTs that had real value. Some Splinterlands are worth insane amount of money, and the demand will grow bigger as the supply gets lower.
Splinterlands is the best place to enjoy NFT powered PvP card battles, to trade and earn in-game rewards and have fun with friends. The game is as hot as Captain Katie, one of the overpower cards that were added with the Gladiator!
What's even hotter? Using $SPS to vote for in-game changes and have a say on how Splinterlands will move forward. I am doing my job and I always participated in governance snapshots. Will be pointless to have voting power and not use it for snapshots!
I voted "YES" for a max base production limit for land plots in phase1.5 because it is what the players want. I don't own a land plot but I know others that do, and this change will be in their favor. The snapshot had 4 times more votes than the quorum and 91% in favor makes it clear!
The summer was hot, and I was away for a week! Yes... I had a holiday but maybe it wasn't that obvious as my metaverse presence was as high as normally! It was all an illusion and I was less active than usual, with internet just at the hotel!
I was still on Bronze I with one day to go from the season, and getting 10 chests was my best performance. The summer is hot... but my Pina Colada was ice cold! I did played some games by the pool, but most of the time just to keep the energy level under 50!
I got back home and managed to burn the energy, grind my way to 3 season chests and few good cards! The Possessed Puppet is one of the cards I started to add in the Death Splinter high mana teams! This construct is created by spellcasters to act as a spy, servant, or even an assassin.
It appears to be an innocuous doll until the last moment when it strikes. It is not unheard of for the creator to lace their construct's weapon with various maladies as well. Yes frens' ... Chucky made it into the Splinterlands!
Possessed puppets are used for all manner of tasks, some darker than others. Nothing is more creepy as a child’s toy with a pair of daggers! The puppets have the ability to telepathically transmit anything they see or hear back to their creators, making them incredibly effective spies.
They can bring an important boost to Death teams, even if the mana cost is high! The common card costs 7 mana but brings Double-Strike to the table and more deadly traits when upgraded. The Puppet starts with 3 Health Points and 2 Melee Damage, growing into an assassin with 4 damage and 5 speed! Will gain Cripple at level 6 and Dispel at level 10, making the Double Strike more efficient than ever!
I said the summer is hot as Captain Katie and I am right! Her story is not happy but the way she fights will brighten the mood! She was riding the sea since she was a bright-eyed and loud-mouthed 5 year old girl! She was on of the three souls that survived a storm... and her father was not among them!
Twenty years later and Captain Katie stood on the front deck of her airship as it tore the blue skies above Khymeria! The strong wind was whipping her face, but she didn’t mind. She was suddenly reminded of that tragic life-changing day when she lost her father, and she wondered if he would be proud of how she now sails in the sky.
Her ship is the fastest of the airships and can be sailed with a crew of as few as four people. Katie signed a one year term as a Moxian Gladiator in representation of Khymeria, and will have the chance to show her skills in close combat and steam-powered tricks up her sleeve.
Captain Katie is a rare Life unit that costs 7 mana, and has the Snipe and Bloodlust abilities! Will gain Divine Shield at level 6, but meanwhile will target the weaklings and grow through bloodlust! This card is a power-house and one of my favorites... even if I don't play Life Splinter that often.
Gladiator Katie and Mother Khala's lullaby! You are not entertained? This battle happened only because the Life splinter was the only available choice, and choosing one Gladiator card as part of the battle-rule was my chance to play Katie!
Mother Khala: +1 Health to friendly monsters
Shieldbearer: Tank with Taunt
Captain Katie: Caster with Snipe and Bloodlust
Armorsmith: Support with Repair
The Armorsmith was chosen to repair the Shieldbearer armor, tactic which was mirrored by my opponent. Same summoner, boosted health but why playing the Venari Crystalsmith as a tank? Wasn't a better idea to let it heal the Shieldbearer while the Scavo Hireling repaired the armor?
Katie went for the taunt and slowly taken the Shieldbearer to 1 health point, while the Venary Crystalsmith health itself in a pointless delay of the game! Definitely this was a mistake and no one would go for this set-up on purpose!
Captain Katie strikes again, deals a deathly blow and goes on steroids thanks to Bloodlust. The enemy is going down, and Katie is leading her army! The Venari Crystalsmith can heal but will not be able to tank! It's time to sail this ship into deeper waters!
Katie goes on a killing spree, taking down the Herbalist and the Scavo Hireling. She got into Hulk-mode, with 6 magic damage and 5 speed, and ended the battle with a snap! Flawless Victory!
I run a simulation of an alternative battle, where the enemy had the Shieldbearer in the first position, and I would still ended victorious! See the full battle here!
