The Nymph Sisters - Splinterlands Battle Challenge
Diary Entry 281: I continued making my way through the jungle, machete out to slice and dice the vegetation that blocks my path. I have to find them ... I have to find the nymphs! I must see if they are as beautiful as the legend says!
Exhausted and thirsty I took a seat on a rock. Had few sips of water from the flask and checked the book again, reading the only Nymph mention in the Splinterlands written texts: "A peculiar new bud appeared at the tips of the highest branches of the Elder Tree. The animals living in the tree watched as the strange buds grew, and in a matter of days, burst open. From each bud zoomed forth a tiny sprite. These Wood Nymphs quickly scattered around Anumün in a frenzy of mischief"
There are many adventurers that said they have seen the beautiful Wood Nymphs but the stories couldn't be confirmed. The tiny creature is a rare monster from the Earth Splinter, with magical attacks and the ability to heal the tank. The 4 mana price is acceptably low, considering the Tank Heal ability and 1 Magic Damage.
After a well deserved rest, I continued my jungle adventure. I went deeper and deeper until I was alarmed by the sound of battle. I lurked through the bushes until I had a clear view of the two armies. Nature's elements and creatures were fighting the glorious Knights of Light!
We are all Life and Light! Battle Rules and Line-up: Normal battle rules with 99 mana equals "LFG!", resulting a super-battle where both sides will play the top cards and disregarding the mana cost.
Summoner: Drake or Arnak: +1 armor to friendly monsters
Stone Golem - Main Tank with Shield
Nectar Queen - 2nd Tank with Flying
Sand Worm - OP Melee with Sneek
Centauri Mage - Caster with Return Fire
Wood Nymph - Caster with Tank Heal
Goblin Mech - 3rd Tank with Piercing
Team Earth went for Armor, while Team Life went for even more armor! The tiny Nymph had to keep the Golem and Goblin on high health, while the others are trying to take down the enemies ASAP.
Heal, then heal again! The Wood Nymph healed the Stone Golem twice before her demise. Without the mending support, the golem shattered into pebbles. His place was taken by the Nectar Queen, and she did well to stop the invaders a, as the enemy struggled to hit a flying target. The Cave Slug was squashed under a giant mech foot and the Elven Defender life was now hanging by a thread!
From my hiding place I could see magic spells, arrows and weapons clattering into an insane battle. Was all gloom and doom, without clear signals on who will win the fight. The drama was entertained by the Centauri Mage and the Goblin Mech, the only monsters that survived from Team Earth.
The Centauri Mage and the Return Fire were turning the tide in Team Earth's favor, damaging the Peacebringer. It was impossible for the Centauri to survive the constant surge of damage. The Goblin Mech was now alone, preparing his last stand against the Knights of Light!
And after 14 long rounds, the Goblin Mech ended victorious! He delivered killing blows to the remaining opponents and showed no mercy! The whole team done their part for this victory, and the stepping stone of the victory was set by the Wood Nymph! She kept the main tank alive enough to gain a small advantage.
The River Nymph and the whisper of the water
In the aftermaths of the battle, I found a scroll ... a scroll telling about a different type of Nymph. Apparently river nymphs "inhabit the rivers of the Splinterlands. Shy and reclusive, they usually remain hidden beneath the water's surface. However, they have a strong respect for life, and they have been known to aid those in need. They are also fiercely protective of their homes and will defend it if it is threatened."
I was amazed by this discovery, and almost fell in love with the beautiful creature penciled on the scrolls. The River Nymph costs 4 mana, coming up with 3 Health Points, 2 Speed, 1 Magic Damage and Dispel Ability
And then ... I heard the whisper... the whisper of the water! Not far away by the river, I could hear a brawl going on.
The Whisper of the Water! Battle Rules and Line-up: Lost Legendaries rules with 25 mana requires efficiency and lower tier monsters.
Kelya Frendul: +1 Armor and +1 Speed
Serpent of Eld - Main Tank with Dodge
Electric Eels - Melee with Reach
Demented Shark - Melee with Inspire
River Nymph - Caster with Cleanse
One Serpent of Eld managed to doge most of the attacks but couldn't do much against the heavy enemy damage. The Demented Shark inspired the friendly fighters to deal more damage, and this was what the Electric Eels where doing.
One team has done better and didn't lose a single monster. See the full battle here!
