The Splinterlands will burn again, as the rebellion is fast approaching. We cannot accept the corruption... we must fight! The survivors are gathering their forces, and the conflicts will soon emerge across the lands!

The Rebellion set is scheduled to be released on the 5th of December, only few days from now! The new cards will bring devastation and havoc, new abilities, new summoners and tactics that will make even Napoleon look unprepared! The pack contain the classic five randomly cards from the Rebellion set, with at least one guaranteed rare card.

The pre-sale was overwhelming for me, as a casual Battle Mage with low resources and wealth! The Rebellion set contains 96 new cards, including two limited-edition promo cards available only during the Rebellion presale. Other nine Legendary airdrop cards which will be distributed via a completely re-imagined system, as the promo cards and legendary airdrops will not available in packs!

Buying 10 packs would give a 100% chance for the Grimbardun Smith Neutral Rare card and 10% chance of receiving a Mantaroth Neutral Legendary card! The price per pack is set at 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC, but the players were able to spend VOUCHER tokens in order to receive a discount on the base price. Each VOUCHER token used reduced the price by 200 Credits / DEC and the maximum discount available using VOUCHER tokens will be 20%.

I grinded hard, done some side hustles ... but all I was able to do ... was to gather 8000 DEC and a bag of Vouchers. I was able to use 10 Vouchers and reduce the price from 10,000 DEC to only 8,000, and bought 2 Rebellion packs. Hope the gods of random will be kind to me and the 20% chance for Grimbardun Smith will be enough to get this promo card.

What's the most important addition that will be implemented with Rebellion? Probably the dual element summoners and new unit abilities. The dual element summoners will allow the summoning from two elements on the same team. Also, the Rebellion Summoners will also feature a new mechanic called Summoner Tactics, where players can choose between two sets of buffs or debuffs after both players reveal their teams.

The Rebellion set will introduce four new unit abilities: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout. he new abilities will enhance certain elements, making the team's synergy more... deadly!

  • Armored Strike - The units with this ability will gain an ADDITIONAL Melee attack using the Armor stats

  • Corrosive Ward - For me this is Acid Thornes and the nemesis to Repair! You can't Repair something that's been melted into acidic goo! When the unit with this ability is hit by melee attack, will do 2 damage to the attacker's Armor AND will also reduce the max Armor of the attacker by 2.

  • Flank - If the unit with this ability is in the first position, then the unit in the second position gains the Reach ability. Imagine the synergy created by this new ability, making the first two units work together to bring down the enemy tank

  • Lookout - Say Hello! to scouts that shield your support units! The card with this ability will help adjacent allies to take one less damage from Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity attacks.

Can't wait for the set to go live, and to see what's hidding in those two packs. Maybe I will not open them and stake for further rewards! The sneak peak posts are teasing the players, and two articles are already posted spoilers.

There will be madness on the battlefield, as it's suggested in this post! The article dropped alpha about the Gobalano Soldier, a powerful unit that will destroys armor and will attacks before the battle even begins, and other crazy units. The OP Infernal Firestorm tank, the Chaos Animator or the Anasth Soothsayer will create new amazing set-ups... but I am buzzing for the new summoners!

Zeddica is the first dual-element summoner, allowing players to use cards from both Death and Water elements. I like her already... as both elements are strong in my deck! I will be able to create some insane strategies, like using the Djinn Oshannus with the stealth Magi Necorsi!

Acording to the lore, the sorceress Zeddica Blackthorn was an underlord in the Belurocian military who served in Overlord Slade’s command. She's a betrayer, and she was picked as one of Slade's captains. Now, she and her company of legionnaires help to ensure the citizens of Fireboro remain subdued.

Prophet Rosa is the first Tactics summoner, offering choices to give shield or buffs to units. After you and your opponent's teams are revealed, you'll have the choice of Shield to one of your units or +2 ranged to two of your units! What would you prefer?

According to the lore, Rosa is a prophet and tribal leader among the bluehair minotaur of the Ujurak tribe. Her tribe came to Praetoria from Azmare, and at first, they thrived on an abundance of natural resources.... before the Chaos Legion came!

She had a vision that gave her clues that a path to ending the Chaos Empire’s reign of terror lies to the south, somewhere in the bleak expanse of the Drybone Badlands. Prophet Rosa prepares to embark on a perilous pilgrimage and a journey of faith to free her tribe!

The second  sneak peak article introduced the Mar Toren Seeker, the perfect second-position unit for the Target Practice ruleset—or anytime your opponent comes at you with Snipe. His Dodge and Phase means he can stand up against even magic attacks. Or maybe you prefer the Moxian Rebel with the ability to give full attack power to adjacent units!

The Redwyrm Dragon is one of Rebellion’s absolute beasts, with Flying, Immunity and Immobolize! But the big alpha comes now ... what units have Protect and Repair and can be used in the Little League ruleset? From Alpha to Rebellion, there's only one, and that's Runeseer Sevaya!

According to the lore, Sevaya and her Riftwatcher compatriots have followed in the wake of Silus of the Rift and his legions of Chaos across numerous realms. They collected the scraps and the survivors, bolstering their combat power and preparing for the day when they would stand against their mortal enemies. Like Doctor Strange... she has seen the possible futures! Most lead to ruin, and only a handful do not!

My mind is blown by the new cards, new summoners and by Runeseer Sevaya! I can imagine how good she will fit into this Little League battle, and the glory that she will bring to my warriors!

This Little League match included Counterspell, with all monsters being able to reflect magic. I don't have Runeseer Sevaya to boost the armor, but I found some alternatives. I used the Ravenhood Warden's Protect to enhance the Crypt Beatle Shield, and the Weirding Warrior to destroy the armor of the enemies.

My Dragon summoner faced the nefarious Thaddius Brood, the nasty dude that reduces the health. With no magic around, the armor boost given by my summoner will play an important role in the outcome of the battle.

Drake of Arnak: +1 Armor

Crypt Beatle: Melee with Shield

Twilight Basilisk: Melee with Reach

Riftwing: Decoy with Flying and Scavenger

Weirding Warrior: Ranged with Shatter

Ravenhood Warden: Ranged with Protect

Uraeus: Melee with Sneak

My tactic was simple... to survive longer than my opponent! I initially thought that was a silly move to play spell casters when Magic Reflect is triggered, but I played against the tide few times as well.

I had to take care of a self sustainable tank, as the Xenith Monk will keep healing and keeping his team safe. We both played the Riftwing as an extra layer of protection, with boosted health after each causality.

Thaddius made an impact, as the Crypt Beatle was down after one attack. His reduced health made it easy for the leeching caster, and the first round was hard to digest. The Basilisk took the tanking job, and done a better job! Not only it survived few attacks, but also unleashed a lethal attack on the Xenith Monk and took him out of the game!

Scavengers as tanks for both teams, and a game that looks balanced as the scale of time! The extra armor was useful against the ranged attacks, and the magic reflection was the extra that took down one of the casters!

Uraeus hit hard behind the enemy line, and added another victim to his list. Was a Riftwing duel, and the survival of the fittest! Sneaky snake again with a sneaky attack, and Scavenger will not be enough to stay alive. My marksman pulled the string and released the arrows!  See the full battle here!
